Reviews
We had a dream honeymoon at Meeru. I don’t even know where to begin, because there were so many things that impressed me and to be honest I almost cried when it was time to leave the island.
The room was cleaned daily, even twice a day, and the housekeeping staff were extremely attentive, always making sure everything was perfectly in order.
The staff deserve a perfect score. No matter where you go or who you meet, everyone is ready to help at any time. From the moment we arrived until we left this wonderful island, we were surrounded by truly amazing people.
The food was outstanding, with something new every day. With the All Inclusive Plus package, we were also able to enjoy four à la carte restaurants, where the food was absolutely delicious. The drinks were just as impressive!
As for the beaches, they were simply breathtaking. We stayed on the north side, in Water Villa 703, and I highly recommend this area because it felt much quieter and offered stunning views. It truly is an oasis of peace and relaxation.
I wholeheartedly recommend Meeru, and we sincerely hope to return to this incredibly beautiful island as soon as possible! 🌴✨
I want to thank them for the excellent service: rooms are cleaned both in the morning and in the evening. While you're having breakfast, your room is immediately tidied up, and when you leave for dinner, there's another evening cleaning before bed.
I was surprised by how many different languages the receptionists spoke. So, you won't have any issues with communication. 😅
The food here is top-notch; we never even had a chance to get hungry. There's exotic fruit, a different cuisine every day, and unique and delicious desserts.
Our room was right on the beach: you just step out and run straight into the water for a swim.
As for the downsides: I didn't like the open-air shower. It's a bit spooky going into the bathroom at night (lots of lizards and bats), they don't bother people, but it's still uncomfortable being there at night. 😅 In the morning, it's fine – the main thing is not to leave the bathroom door open so they don't get into the room itself.
The beaches here are gorgeous, with sand like flour. Lots of fish swim right by the shore. You can spot stingrays at night near the overwater bungalows.
For excursions, I recommend the yacht trip to see dolphins. There's an 80% chance you'll see them. It's $50 per person. We didn't regret it at all; we saw dolphins, and they were jumping and escorting our yacht. 😍
The most beautiful sunsets are right by the overwater bungalows or near the beach by the reception area.
The round-trip transfer for two cost $420. This hotel also has an environmental tax (if I'm not mistaken) of $12 per night. You can call them to confirm the total amount you'll need to pay upon check-in (including transfer and taxes). The call is free from Trip.com, and ask for someone who speaks your language; they're sure to have someone available. 😅
I also managed to take some aerial photos of the island! 😅
Enjoy your vacation! 🥥🐚🤍
What an absolutely stunning island, plenty to see and do, golf, driving range, tennis badminton, diving, snorkeling and boat trips. Several places to eat, a la carte or buffet dining
We mainly ate in the Farivalhu buffet restaurant, food was really good and plenty of choice to suit all tastes and dietary requirements, we were waited on mainly by a lovely man called Ahmed, he's been at Meeru resort 27 years, very knowledgeable about the island and so helpful.
We drank at the Pavillion bar, served by Pushpa and Sammy, the dream team. Kind, courteous and genuinely lovely guys who made our holiday extra special.
We stayed in the jacuzzi water villas, loved every second sitting on our deck watching, colourful fish, rays and sharks swim by in the turquoise waters. We swam in the water every day, chest height at its deepest when high tide,I'm 5' 3", current can be strong, there are swim vests provided in the villa if you wish to use them.
The island promotes sustainability and all buggies are electric, uses solar to produce some of its our power and grows alot of its own fruit and vegetables.
The island is kept pristine.
All staff are so friendly and greet you warmly, very accommodating.
We loved every second of our stay and would love to return one-day.
Unfortunately, there were some cold, non-laughing, and rude guests around, which sometimes affected the atmosphere. But honestly, you meet these idiots everywhere, and this has absolutely nothing to do with the hotel or its staff, who were warm, friendly, and outstanding throughout. Highly recommended.
The food was excellent, with a great variety at every meal. We especially appreciated the themed dinners and the fresh seafood options. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.
The service was outstanding — the staff were always friendly, attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and offered amazing views.
We also enjoyed the activities and excursions offered by the resort, from snorkeling to sunset cruises. Everything was well-planned and added to the overall experience.
Overall, Meeru is a perfect destination for relaxation and a true Maldivian experience. We would definitely love to come back!
