We had a perfect stay at Joy Island. The staff’s organization and professionalism were outstanding. From the moment we arrived at the airport until the very end of our trip, we were consistently met with kindness, warmth, and efficiency.
The island’s facilities are excellent, beautifully maintained, and designed to provide both comfort and relaxation. What truly made our experience special was the team. Every staff member was genuinely friendly, attentive, and always welcoming.
A special thanks to Hassaan, our host, who ensured that every detail of our stay was exceptional. We truly recommend this resort!

I usually don't write reviews because I enjoy traveling, but I am writing this because I felt terrible after visiting this place. I am writing this to get things improved.
This place is a crazy ***** island. Asians should absolutely not go there; the ****** is really severe.
Also, if you go in a small group, you cannot participate in activities; you have to pay for four people.
Even if I give a generous tip, it doesn't feel worth it.
They told me that activities weren't allowed,
but when I checked in, they set up leftover wine and liquor in the refrigerator.
And as soon as I arrived, at the drink bar in the center, they served drinks to Westerners in glass cups, but to Asians in paper cups.
I don't think I will ever go to the Maldives again.
I am not doing this with malicious intent; I am just stating the facts.

My wife and I recently celebrated our honeymoon here. It was not our first time to Joy Island, but our second, and it was perfect in every way.
We were picked up at the airport by Gais, who helped with our luggage when we were exhausted and made sure we found the boat to take to the island. Our amazing hostess, Maral, greeted us upon arrival, helped us with any questions we had, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our entire stay.
Our accommodations were very clean and we loved being able to swim in the lagoon, surrounded by fish.
The food at The Market was delicious and definitely led to us putting on some weight (watch out for the Room of Sin). The staff there, Gracia and Hunaidh, were very attentive and kind.
We even were able to experience a romantic sunset cruise, guided by a manager, Issey, who showed us some dolphins that happened to be swimming nearby.
Overall, it was a very memorable experience, only made possible by the wonderful staff at Joy Island, and we will absolutely be returning here in the future!

Had the most amazing time at Joy Island . The staff was amazing and very friendly. They were so hospitable and made us feel welcome and made sure we were looked after. Naveen was very attentive and always making sure we got what we needed. The restaurant staff Tutu, Richal,Remi,Sandun, rozairo and all staff had a smile on their faces and made us feel at home.
Apart from that Hambe, Raghu, Bandula, Sanih, and rest of the management team and chefs Anton , Iresh and Tharanga were amazing.
The food was a major highlight. Chef Tharanga’s Sri Lankan crab meal was sensational, and Pastry Chef Iresh is a genius with his pastries and desserts. A special mention to the tiramisu—it is hands down one of the best we have ever tasted anywhere in the world! Thank you also to Chef Anton, Chef Sandun, and the whole kitchen crew for their amazing hospitality. We can’t wait to come back!

This resort was simply excellent. The location is ideal- close enough to the Male airport to use a free speedboat rather than a restrictive and expensive seaplane (so you can bring all the baggage you want to!), but it is still isolated and looking out into the Indian Ocean. The island was well-structured to have a relaxing and private atmosphere, including a silent beach and a reserved area for children. With the lagoon villas being further out for privacy and optimal views, we got a lot of steps in but appreciated the option to request buggies when need be. The lagoon villas were quiet throughout the day and it was lovely to be able to jump right into the water. The reef was surprisingly good, particularly the rose garden behind 319-322 on the eastern lagoon villa side. The room was beautiful and spacious with regular cleanings and great amenities. The food was shockingly good in the main Market restaurant with great diversity within a meal and over the week- the Maldivian food was a special highlight! The staff went above and beyond at every chance, particularly our kind host Naseem, meal hosting by Gracia and Tutu, humor from Rishal at dinners, excursions with Shimaam, Mohamed with housecleaning (and special designs for our birthdays!), coral adoption with marine biologist Asia, and diving instruction with Carolina. The excursions and activities were amazing- we snorkeled with turtles and sharks, did an introductory dive, took the dolphin and regular sunset cruises, adopted and planted coral (which we strongly recommend to give back to the environment!), swam with the seabobs, played on the inflatable obstacle course, and enjoyed delightful massages (do it outside by the beach to hear the sounds of the water). I thought it was phenomenal value for your money all around and the staff really shined to ensure you had a lovely visit. I cannot wait to recommend Joy Island to family and friends, and I truly hope to return!

Other special mentions to Haku, our snorkeling guide, and Mord, our captain: they managed to make our snorkeling experience incredible, managing to find mantas and turtles.

A super relaxing vacation. The food was delicious and varied, and the evening entertainment was excellent. We'll definitely be back for a longer stay. The ocean is beautiful and clean, and you can see a lot of the wildlife without a mask: stingrays, dolphins, snakes, etc. It's truly a paradise.
