Dhonfulhafi Beach View & Spa Hotel in Baa Atoll

We had an amazing experience staying at Dhonfulhafi Beach View and Spa. We loved the hospitality and location. Nothing is better than eating on the beach under the stars every night. The staff were amazing and so friendly and the transfer was smooth- Haneef arranged everything for us. We were able to take a speedboat transfer because the timings worked out and this saved us money and was very easy. The location of the hotel right in the middle of the main sweep of the beach is perfect and we enjoyed relaxing on the balcony in the evening. It was a wonderful chance to immerse ourselves in island life getting to know many locals and experiencing local traditions like ball games on the beach. Everyone was so friendly! This was much better than any resort island in our opinion and having a week without alcohol was a real perk- we returned back to the UK feeling revitalised and refreshed. We had a non-alcoholic beer from the supermarket on the pier every evening as we watched the sunset and saw so much marine life. We snorkeled with dolphins, eagle rays, octopuses, sharks, and turtles. Our five children aged from 12-22 had the time of their life. Thank you Haneef and Alex and all the staff for a wonderful holiday and we hope to return one day.

We vacationed as a family with two children (8 years old and 2 years old). At the moment the hotel has the most favorable location! Rooms overlooking the sea, a gorgeous beach, rich marine life, you can see all sorts of fish, stingrays, turtles, octopus, starfish, moray eel, those who swam away from the hotel saw sharks. At the end of our vacation we already felt at home, we got used to a measured life! I would like to note that during our two weeks of stay we never got bored) I am once again convinced that the main thing is the inner attitude! A little about the disadvantages (which caused us discomfort), because... a lot has already been written about the positive side) - The room on the first floor is dark, although there are two windows, but you can’t open the curtains, as you will be in full view, - We washed ourselves several times in the evening in cold water, there is not enough boiler (although they promised to fix this point after the spring renovations), - Sometimes there is no fruit, but as I understand it, it’s not the hotel’s fault, but the lack of fruit on the island, as there are supply interruptions. There are also few vegetables, no tomatoes, no peppers, and cucumbers are limited. - there aren’t enough umbrellas on the beach (the shade of the trees didn’t quite suit us, but that’s enough). - the beach is cleaned by locals, so they do it as needed, the sand near the water is good, but the bushes are dirty, - By the time we left, they changed the food area and it became cozy), thank you Alexander for listening and hearing! - For now the island is quite secluded, but in the near future tourism will be very developed. But this is a minus for some, a plus for others) - It’s a difficult trip on a speedboat, it makes you very sick, but you can prepare for it. And I would really like to note that for some reason in one review on another site, in the minuses, a large presence of Russians was noted. It was even a shame for all those wonderful guests from Russia with whom we spent our two unforgettable weeks! There are also a lot of Italians in this hotel, in general there are mainly Russians and Italians in the hotel. So, Russians behave quietly and modestly, unlike the loud and noisy Italians. Apparently the characteristics of the nation).

My wife and I visited at the end of January - beginning of February. It took us a long time to choose an island/hotel. We found a review somewhere here that the owner is Russian - and wrote it. Alexander wrote everything in great detail with detailed manuals on where to go and what to do with screenshots. He is always online :) We booked with him, the travel agent turned out to be 100k more expensive for the same dates (but the flight was a little different). An excellent reef (we saw turtles, sharks, stingrays, lobsters and octopuses (the last two at the pier) and all sorts of small fish), 1 km away there is an uninhabited island that we went to, there is just a super color of water and a beach (there are many different excursions and prices 2-3 times less than at resorts). Probably one of the most beautiful reefs in Baa Atoll for sure. By the way, part of the island is occupied by the jungle, I often walked through it, there is an insta-palm tree on which everyone takes pictures. The island also has banana palms and a lot of papaya (from the locals). The holiday is super, who wants to see the life of a local island, a good reef, a sociable attitude and many other good things - I recommend it!

We vacationed on the island as a family with two children aged 17 and 10 from November 8 to 18, 2023. For the first time in our lives, we decided not to buy a package tour, but contacted the manager, Alexander (he is from Russia), via Whats App on the hotel page. It turned out to be simple and much cheaper than the package. We agreed on the reservation, transfer from Male to the island. Maalos, taxi, bought tickets and flew out on vacation. We had a great flight to Male. When flying over the Maldives archipelago, the view of the azure islands from above is amazing. We were warmly greeted with cocktails and fed. The hotel is new, about 15 rooms, on the ocean shore, with a convenient common veranda on the 2nd floor. We had room 8 with an ocean view, which in my opinion was the most comfortable in the hotel. And everything that is expected in the Maldives: a white sandy beach, a jungle, flying dogs, dolphins, a very beautiful reef with a huge variety of fish, turtles and the ubiquitous crabs! You can rent kayaks for free and paddle around the island or paddle to the uninhabited one nearby! In practice, it turned out that the best protection from the equatorial sun is a light robe, preferably with a hood, so as not to spoil your rest from overtanning, since even +50 cream is weakly effective. Some hotel neighbors who tried to sunbathe got badly sunburned!! The cuisine is not bad, tuna, chicken, pastas, salads, fruits. There won’t be such a variety of dishes here as at resorts, but if you don’t come for a gourmet meal, then everything is fine. The hotel staff is very attentive and friendly. On the island, Muslim chants are played for local residents, sometimes at 4-30 in the morning! It didn't bother us. A holiday of complete relaxation - a maximum of 5-7 people on the beach, the sound of the ocean, a sky full of stars at night! Sunrise and sunset, this is a must see. I was very pleased that there were no TVs in the rooms))! I would like to come here during the period of manta rays and whale sharks.

We have recently stayed (August) in Dhonfulhafi Beach View in Maalhos with my family for 6 days. 2 adults and 2 teenagers I would like to highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to visit the Maldives in a more authentic way. Let me try to summarise the most relevant points of our stay: - Hotel Staff is absolutely amazing and super kind Haneef supporting us from the very beginning, trying to adequate our needs, trying to make our stay memorable. Always looking for customer satisfaction. 5 stars for him!! Daniela always taking care of us with a big smile Nabil with all meals, excellent prepared and very tasty Abir Hussan in the Housekeeping. We always had our room spotless Mohamed preparing all the amazing daily tours we did Thank you so much to all the Team leaded by Haneef for making us enjoy an unforgettable holidays - We stayed in a family room (4 people) and room was very nice, with very good views and very comfortable beds. - Wifi was excellent. Very good speed all over the place. - We booked Full board and all the meals were very good and very tasty. - Daily tours were absolutely amazing. We visited some picnic islands (Vilingili and Huraafaru), some sandbanks (Angafaru and Royal) and we enjoyed a lot. In all these place you will discover the meaning of paradise - We also did snorkelling with mantas in Hanifaru and we saw more than 100 mantas. Amazing experience - In front of Maalhos there is a desert island (Hibalhidhoo) and you could go there in kayaks (they are free). - Overall Maalhos is a very nice island and sunsets from bikini beach are absolutely gorgeous. In a nutshell a great place to enjoy a pure maldivian holidays!!!

Incredible hotel on a dream island with a desert island in front of it, 5 minutes away by canoe. Reef right on the beach where with my children I could see turtles, sharks and moray eels, as well as thousands of fish. The service is wonderful, they arranged a seaplane flight for us from Spain, since it is only a service for resorts and they arranged it for us. They left my children and me a GoPro and every day they sent the photos to our cell phones. They made us feel better than at home. There is no greater pleasure than watching the sunset every day from your terrace after a day of diving. Every night we have dinner on the beach with different lights, feeling the shore and the water almost at our feet. I don't know if I will return to the Maldives, but if I do, I will surely repeat here and at the diving club 100 meters away.

We rested for 12 nights from 06/18/23 to 06/30/23. Fairytale island. A wonderful hotel on the ocean. Warm welcome. Punctuality of hotel staff at pick-up and check-out. Homely atmosphere. The hotel staff is very attentive and friendly. The locals of Maalos Island are always friendly and smiling. Everything worked perfectly in the room: WI-FI, air conditioning, fan. White sandy beach, jungle, flying dogs, dolphins, stingrays, a very beautiful reef with a huge variety of fish, crabs, fishing on a boat, an unforgettable excursion to the UNESCO reserve to see manta rays. We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised by a gift from the hotel in the form of a cake and the romantic holiday atmosphere created. The farewell dinner was also very emotional: to the sound of ocean waves by candlelight. We sincerely thank Alexander and Hanif for spending time relaxing on this paradise island in your hotel. The place is right on the beach, with a great house reef just in front. The room we had was with a nice sea view, large bed and very large and comfortable bathroom. Hanif, the owner, was an exquisite guest, always available to help and provide advice on everything. The restaurant is fantastic, with excellent local recipes. Great diving and snorkelling possibilities nearby!

Very nice guest house with a splendid view. Being able to have lunch and dinner on the beach is priceless. Cozy and well-kept rooms. Some communication difficulties with the staff who speak little English, but Mohamed, who manages the location, is good at following the guests.
