Mookai Hotel in Male

It's all clean and fairly recently decorated. Room and bathroom were small but adequate. Only complaints: lack of plug sockets and in particular none near the bed; shower curtain instead of screen is impractical; although it was nice to have a balcony and view over the road the doors didn't have a great seal so the aircon had no effect on the bed near the door.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful including recommending that we buy water from the shop across the road instead of the hotel and breakfast outside!
I was annoyed that we were told on arrival that the pool was closed for refurbishment because we really chose the hotel because of the pool.
I was also annoyed that I booked with complimentary transfers but when I contacted the hotel to ask about the transfers they declared that the transfers are no longer included. Obviously they eventually retracted that after I complained but it shouldn't have been an issue at all.
Overall it's fine for a short stay but overpriced without the pool and don't expect high spec.
