One honest note: snorkeling near the island was a bit disappointing, as most of the corals in the marine park are unfortunately dead. There are still some colorful fish to see, but if you’re expecting vibrant coral reefs, you might be underwhelmed.
That said, the island itself is absolutely worth visiting – perfect for a day of rest, great food, and amazing views. It’s a little slice of paradise, just not ideal for snorkeling.
Chef Subash was fantastic and went out of his way to create a delicious all-vegan menu at our request.
We spent the night in the villa on the island, which was a magical experience and one of the best hotel stays we have had.
Special shout out to Stephan for co-ordinating the reception, and even making sure we had 5* noodles after midnight when all our guests had left and we were hungry!
And to Jotee for making our stay at the Villa so memorable!
Ile Des Deux Cocos will always hold a special place in our hearts and we will be returning at every opportunity.
The service and the lunch are really where this island adventure really excels. the drinks and food staff could not do enough for you with an array of lovely cocktails and a really good buffet lunch cooked to perfection. I particularly loved the langoustine with garlic butter sauce.
During lunch there is a musician who will play your favourite relaxed classics on his guitar and harmonica and we even had a little sing along to Hey Jude.
A walk round the island after lunch is also a must, allowing you to see both the adillic tropical bay and the impressive rollers hitting into the reef.
All in all, if you get a chance to visit, I wholeheartedly encourage you to do so. Have fun!
