Despite the central location in Mahebourg and the attentive assistance of the host, there are not many other positive points. The services are basic, the room is quite dilapidated as is the entire hotel. Air conditioning must be purchased separately (5 euros per day). Breakfast is included in the price which is average for the area.

The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. When we first arrived, we had not had a chance to exchange money to Mauritian Rupees, and he took 1000Rs out of his wallet and loaned it to us in case we needed some before we got to an ATM. Breakfast was simple, but good. Place was just as pictured.

Hard to find but good
Excellent host that really speaks English, decent budget stay for airport, fewer barking dogs at night than most of the island. Good restaurant nearby.

Great, very pleasant and warm welcome. Simple bedroom and bathroom. No need for more for one night in our opinion. Simple breakfast with an extra fruit salad. The value for money is great. There are a few restaurants nearby and we are very close to the airport. So very practical when you get there.

Having to stay for one night in Mahebourg without spending too much, we chose this property on a specialized site. It is a two-storey building with an entrance on a street with little traffic and quite quiet. The rooms overlook a lovely, flowery internal courtyard. It is run by a very kind and helpful couple. The price of the room (really cheap) includes a light breakfast. The sore points are the rather shabby bathroom with hot water arriving more than 5 minutes after opening the tap and the perpetually dangling shower head that doesn't want to feel like it's stuck to the support hook. The bathroom equipment is limited to just one small towel and no cosmetic products for the shower (only a hand dispenser). On the other hand, there is a small refrigerator to keep drinks and food brought by guests relatively cold. However, what drastically drops our assessment is the nocturnal visit of a robust cockroach which kept us company during the night and subsequently broke in behind the furniture in the room, escaping our attempts to capture it. After all, for the price paid (around €30), it's worth it.

Not the best you'll find in Mahebourg but still nice place to be if you want to be in a relatively quiet place.

Very nice location with a great view on the waterfront and the Lion Mountain.
Cozy place.
Relatively pricey but excellent food quality.
Service was very slow and worst of it all i got my main course before the entree. I wasn't the only one at my table with this issue.
The food was worth the wait though. The seafood crepes were amazing. The steaks were cooked as asked.
If you get seated indoors, or just go to the toilet you will be surrounded by disturbingly pink walls.
Theres also a corner where they sell dresses. Seriously?
Plenty parking space all around mahebourg. Good opportunity to walk along the whole waterfront and end up in front of the restaurant for lunch.
To sum up, the food experience was great. As for the rest, theres plenty room for improvement. For the price, the old teared up A4 sheets of the menu could have at least been laminated. Make sure to reserve a table beforehand as the restaurant gets filled up pretty fast on peak days.

No star - for “card machine” did not work - rather strangely.
No star - total food bill was MUR2000 but they wanted to charge MUR4000 - asked to recalculate properly.
No star - bananas flambeè had bananas the size of a worm. Extremely small and thin “2 inches in length and 3 inches thick”. With an addition of a teaspoon of vanilla ice cream - all for MUR350 ... not worth bothering with this dessert.

Had a really nice meal here. The restaurant area was an open courtyard and well decorated. The service was good and we were recommend the chef's special deal of the day which included dessert. We had starters and drinks as well and it was all delicious and really good value. The staff were friendly to us as well. Would recommend it.
