Hotel Villa Trompenberg in Hilversum

The hotel is a converted villa on the outskirts of Hilversum (on the 's Gravenland side). The rooms were beautifully clean and very tastefully decorated and spacious. The owners were very helpful. Good buffet breakfast, nicely presented. Reasonable prices too. There is little signage to the hotel, so it may be a bit difficult to find in the dark: trust your sat-nav!

This lavishly decorated and well managed B&B exceeded all our expectations. It’s special in every way. We were very pleased with our ‘luxury’ room #4 on the ground level and especially enjoyed its spacious sunroom sitting area with patio doors opening to a lush garden. Heaps of natural light illuminates the room during the day from the south-facing sunroom and large west windows; but blocked out when needed with thick curtains. The stylish room is equipped with a comfy-cushy bed, large table surface, stocked minibar, laptop-size safe, sufficient closet space, 2 flat screen TVs and uber-fast Wifi. Although the bathroom (with a shower) is on the small size, it’s in great condition, clean and refreshed daily with new towels. Traffic noise from the main road can be a bit loud at times when sitting in the south garden, but you cannot hear it from inside or the front of house patio area. Their self-serve, honour system works incredibly well for check-in, coffee/tea/pop/beer/wine (ranges from 3 to 5 euros) and bikes (5 or 10 euros per use depending on style of bike). Parking (on or off street) is a breeze. It’s an easy walk of 10-15 minutes to nearby restaurants/bistros and the centrum. We didn’t partake in the optional breakfast but the selection looked very good. There are various communal spaces for lounging inside - all are elegantly designed with chic touches. It’s hard not to love the boutique-style and serene surroundings of this accommodation that’s set in an upscale neighbourhood. Absolute must stay hotel. Booked through *********** and everything went just perfectly. I loved the place and location, close to both Utrecht and Amsterdam. The rooms are spacious with antique furniture of a dark brown stain, very tastefully decorated and the topping on the cake was undoubtedly the fabulous chandelier. The room had French doors which opened to a small sun room, atrium, with lovely dark leather couches and it was just so inviting. The bed was a king size bed and was heavenly. You just simply fell asleep. Checking into the villa was unique and you felt that you were expected and welcomed. Completely hassle free. The breakfast room cum lounging area was very well appointed with magazine racks and comfy leather armchairs. Since I stayed at the villa I have been picky when it comes to getting fresh fruit, nuts and dried berries. Everything was so fresh and inviting. Makes such a difference to your morning and the rest of the day just follows suit (smile). Good coffee and the breakfast made to your liking, the eggs simply the way you wanted it! The neighbourhood seemed really upscale and made you want to go for a long walk. Walked to a local restaurant which was recommended by the staff and it was a lovely way to end the evening. If you are looking for a romantic holiday or just a luxuriously quiet get-a-way this is it! Enjoy!

We stayed at the Villa Trompenberg for the second time in the past three years and we really enjoyed both of our stays very much. Trompenberg is a small family run Hotel located quite centrally, but quiet and ideal for exploring the region. The Trompenberg has a lovely design and the rooms are very well presented. The beds are awesome - I came with a slight back pain and left without it! The breakfast is excellent and there is free, excellent espresso coffees and teas throughout the day. We will certainly choose this Hotel again when traveling to this area or to Amsterdam, which is less than 30 min away.

The hotel and its surroundings are delightful. The self-check-in process and honesty form function seamlessly. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Its location is convenient, close to both Utrecht and Amsterdam, as well as the Vecht River and Loosdrecht, making for a lovely Sunday drive.

This is an exceptional, out of the ordinary, place. Wonderful cosy interior. It feels like home. Whether you are on a stressed business trip or a more relaxed stay in the area, you will re-loaded with an almost spiritual energy. In morning at breakfast, is the only moment you will see staff. The lady is a perfect host taking care of your wishes.

Beautiful hotel ideally located in a quiet part of Hilversum. The villa Trompenberg has a lot of “cachet” and offers everything you need: hi-speed internet, clean and comfortable room, tasty breakfast…Also love the “reception less” and honesty concept. Finally, the staff was super friendly and flexible. Had to change my reservation at the last minute and it was no problem at all. Thank again, I will come back for my next visit in Hilversum.

Extremely well located within Hilversum, this quiet, luxury collection of rooms in a building with a great history was the perfect business and relaxation destination. The staff was simply stellar in being of service without hovering, while the morning sunroom breakfast was the perfect way to start the day.
