A bit hard to find when on foot but very clean, roomy and good soundproofing. Interesting decor. I wish the staff were more knowledgeable about the building's history.

The hotel is a hidden gem at 10 minutes walk from the Old Town centre.

The staff is very cordial and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with your own air-conditioning/heating. The rooms are fully equipped with plenty of power plugs for your electronics and/or electrical bike chargers.

The hotel has also a spacious and well groomed garden that is a pleasure to enjoy. When in the garden you would not think that you are in the middle of the city.

Breakfast is excellent with freshly baked bread and delicious croissants.

In conclusion excellent and highly recommended.

A bit of History, Nuns in the Nemiusklooster (from the internet)

The name of the hotel, de Soete Moeder, refers to Sweet Mother Mary, patroness of ‘s-Hertogenbosch and of the Nemiusklooster (the convent) that was built between 1928 and 1929. Apart from having occupied the convent for 75 years, the nuns also provided care and education in the convent and its surrounding neighbourhood. This adds an extra dimension to the convent building. The Nemiusklooster originally constituted an ensemble, consisting of a church, a home for the elderly, a vicarage, a patronage building and a girls’ and nursery school.

A push in the right direction

De Soete Moeder no longer functions as a religious institute, but unites the social engagement of the Sisters of Love with something new: monastery hotel de Soete Moeder as patroness of vulnerable young people.

The monastery hotel is more than a special location where guests flourish. It is our mission to offer young people such as job-seekers, dropouts and students looking for a work placement an opportunity to learn and gain work experience. Founders Adri and Eline have taken over the social and civic role of the nuns.

Stayed here to celebrate 7 years of marriage and coincidentally stayed it the room called 'Seventh Heaven'. And that was what it felt like. Beautiful room, spacious and comfortable. Slept like a baby: the bed was great and it was really quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful, always a warm welcome when you came back to the hotel. Would like to stay here again if I would return to Den Bosch.

Historic hotel, it seems to me that it was founded by nuns. It was renovated, essentially in the bathrooms, conserving a little of its past. The restaurant room is magnificent, overlooking the hotel garden, where you can also enjoy breakfast. The people are of extraordinary sympathy. It is located in a residential neighborhood and by a very nice lake. I recommend.

Very friendly service, nice clean room and the cloister theme is beautifully integrated.

The rooms are quite small. TV set is not connected to the internet so no Netflix or even YouTube. Fridge is not available. The location is really great and the city centre is in walking distance. The staff was friendly and nice.

What's a tremendous place. Beautiful history and great that they still help the less fortunate. Recommended place to stay and dine.
