Ben Center Hotel in Amsterdam

Hotel Ben Amsterdam is budget-friendly and conveniently located, with easy access to public transport and nearby attractions. The rooms are very basic, and the facilities feel a bit dated. There is no lift, so carrying luggage up the stairs can be a real hassle. While the staff are generally helpful without nice smile, the hotel lacks charm and comfort, so it doesn’t feel like a place you’d want to linger in. It’s fine for a short stay or overnight stop, but don’t expect anything special—more functional than enjoyable.

It is a budget hotel, it's cheap and that's what you get. A basic room but it does the job, the beds were comfy enough and the hotel is very central. There is a bad smell on the lower floors, even though we were on the highest floor (5), I was actually glad because the smell didn't reach us up there, I'd rather climb 100 stairs then smell that! Overall we didn't mind our stay here all in all, it depends how precious you are about your facilities etc., this is the bare minimum really, but we enjoyed our trip. Not sure if I'd go again, might be worth paying a bit more.... **No reflection on the hotel as this is similar with all places around RLD late at night, but there were some dodgy characters loitering around as it gets later, a black guy tried to rob me and my mate outside the hotel, we were very lucky that the hotel door was directly behind us - this was a chance opportunity by this person so not the hotels fault, but still keep your wits about you at night! Really we were lucky Hotel Ben Centre has a 24 hour reception, although no one was at the desk while this was happening. There are groups of criminals that are ruining the RLD, we decided not to stay out too late on the second night which is a shame.**
