This is still my go-to choice for value in Amsterdam. It's convenient for getting everywhere, and I'm already super familiar with the surrounding area. Plus, I really love De Pijp, so I'm hoping to stay here again next time!

This was by far the most satisfying hotel on our trip to Europe. The facilities were perfect, and unlike most places in Europe where you pay for everything, this hotel provided a complimentary still water and a sparkling water bottle daily. The executive lounge room type was incredibly affordable. We could grab a soft drink before heading out and upon returning, and they even offered free Japanese beer and some snacks. I thought the breakfast at the lounge in the mornings was quite good too – perfect for a quick bite if you can't make it to regular breakfast. Plus, the lounge view was fantastic! 👍

Under Amsterdam's twinkling canals, I stumbled into Hotel Okura, weary from cobblestone wanderings. The lobby gleamed like a golden age dream—marble floors, crystal chandeliers whispering opulence. Check-in was a breeze; the concierge, with a sly wink, upgraded me to a canal-view suite.
Sinking into silk sheets, I gazed at houseboats bobbing below. Room service arrived: stroopwafels, bitterballen, and champagne fizzing like fireworks. Midnight stroll? Nah. Instead, a random jazz playlist from the spa radio lured me to the rooftop bar. Stars, Amstel lights, a stranger's flirtatious laugh. Pure magic. Woke refreshed, Amsterdam reborn. Unforgettable stay.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Okura. We'd especially like to commend the exceptionally friendly check-in process – we felt very welcome and well looked after right from the start. Unfortunately, there was one drawback: I never received a response to a special request I had made, which I'd submitted both via email and noted in the booking itself. As a result, by the time we checked in, it was already too late for the restaurant I'd hoped for, and I had to quickly arrange an alternative venue for a birthday dinner, as the hotel restaurant was fully booked.

Because my email seemingly didn't reach the hotel, or only partially did, the birthday surprise planned by the hotel – a thoughtful gesture of a small cake with a card – unfortunately arrived in the room on the wrong day.

Despite these minor mix-ups, it was still a very lovely birthday weekend for my husband overall, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Impeccable service and professionally run.  We have a most wonderful stay and the Okura is rightly acclaimed as one of the leading hotels of this part of the world.  Surely, there wouldn’t be many other which can lay claim to hosting three michelin rated restaurants.
