The hotel was alright for a 3 star hotel. It could use some touch ups here and there: some paint on the walls and some parts of the wood at rotting in the bathroom. But overall it was a fine room with everything you might need. There is daily housekeeping. They entirely skipped our room for 1 day even though we put the sign out in front. When I went to the desk they gave me clean towels and they told me it happened somewhat frequently. However they mentioned it too the staff and it didn't happen again. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest metro station. Definitely doable if you're young or have a car. There is a petrol station nextdoor which has a 24/7 store, very convenient.

Very disappointed with my experience at Bastion Hotel Amsterdam Amstel.
The booking was made through Booking.com, where I have been a loyal customer for years and regularly book accommodations for my clients. Due to the unexpected closure of airspace in Dubai, we were physically unable to travel and check in — a situation completely beyond our control.
Despite clearly explaining the circumstances, neither the hotel nor Booking.com was willing to assist with a rebooking or provide any form of refund. There was no flexibility, no understanding, and no effort to help resolve the issue.
Very frustrating and disappointing experience, especially during a force majeure situation.

The cleanliness was terrible; the room was only used to change towels, but the insect noise and other disturbances were awful. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

As I was solo traveller and booked from trip.com.i was alone and was supposed to pay city tax for single person..but they said there are two beds so u have to pay for two people,this was really unfair to pya city tax by one person for two people whereby other person doesnot exist or not presnet..so for me it was not good experience and the behaviour of receptionist was not good..

The Bastion Hotel Amsterdam Amstel is fine for a quick or budget-friendly stay. The rooms are clean and have the basics covered, and the staff are polite and helpful. However, the hotel feels a bit dated, and the location isn’t the most convenient - it’s a bit outside the city center, so you’ll need public transport to get around. The breakfast is decent but a little pricey for what’s offered. Overall, it’s a practical choice if you just need a place to sleep, but not ideal if you’re looking for a more comfortable or scenic Amsterdam experience.

I recently stayed at the Bastion Hotel in Amsterdam and was quite disappointed with the service. The staff at the front desk were unfriendly and unhelpful, which made my stay uncomfortable. I expected a more welcoming attitude, but instead I felt like my questions and requests were an inconvenience to them. The hotel itself was fine, but the rude behavior of the staff really affected the overall experience. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place based on the customer service.

Hotel is clean and staff are friendly, serves good meals has on site gym.
Apart from the distance to the main central, location is ideal. Metro is walking distance from the hotel and near by restaurants.

It was an unpleasant stay in Bastion Hotel Amsterdam Amstel in Netherlands.
a) Upon check-in, we were told that our booking price via agent was not relevant, and they had charged us with a higher rate and excluding breakfast. We had to pay the higher price as the receptionist insisted that the booking price was incorrect. The receptionist was extremely rude.
b) After making the payment, the receptionist refused to provide us the official receipt. However, this issue was resolved after we managed to talk to her manager on the next few days.
c) The room was dusty, not clean, poor bed quality and poor sound proofing. The location was also not very strategic.
Definitely not going to book this hotel again if I ever travel to Amsterdam.

The hotel is excellent, with a great location. It's close to the subway station and highway, and parking is free if you drive there. It's a 15-minute walk to the subway station, which leads directly to the central train station.
