Unfortunately we had a very bad experience at the Conscious Hotel in Utrecht. With our 2 children - ages 16 and 11 - we booked - for a few nights their expensive suite - room suitable for 4 people. Upon arrival we noticed that the windows couldn't open - historical building. Our eldest daughter gets severe anxiety because of claustrophobia and we asked if we could change rooms. The receptionist was friendly and offered us 2 other - very standard - rooms for the following 2 nights. She said there would be no extra charge, but had to check with management. We said we were OK to pay any difference - didn't expect there to be any or at least not much as we paid a lot for their most expensive suite and the other 2 rooms were basic rooms - but wanted to know in advance. We went to the reception - lovely but young and quite unexperienced team, multiple times, they said management would let us know, but nobody called. Upon check out we were charged over 500 EUR extra!!!!!!! for the 2 nights. Extra - as the suite was paid for. We asked to speak to the management, but nobody was available. We have tried to call and email multiple times. We got 1 reply with apologies and that they were looking in the situation and give us an answer, but they never replied back despite multiple follow ups from our side. Telling us in advance there would be no extra charge, and then charge us so much extra without advance notice and no possibility to speak to someone really is unfair and extremely unprofessional. Our worst hospitality experience in the Netherlands ever. We would absolutely not recommend this hotel.

Conscious Hotel (The Tire Station) is located in a quiet area of Amsterdam, tucked away from major tourist attractions. It is located in the corner of Vondelpark, making it super accessible to the park! There is a supermarket around 5 mins walk from the hotel. Tram stations were located around 5-10 min walk depending on which station u are heading to. Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum is 30 min walk away too.
Booked 2 triple room for my family. Although my room was located on level 1, there wasn’t much noise from the surrounding. The view from my room was the beautiful canal, and sunset views in the evening. The rooms were decent in size. Pillows were a little soft. Some minor issues we had were there wasn’t enough plugs in the room for 3. The shower room didn’t have a space for us to place our shower items, though shower gel and body soap was provided. And there was no heater, it can be quite cold in the night.
The front desk area was also a mini cafe which sells coffee and pastry.
Overall we had a good stay in this hotel! Would not mind coming back again!

An easy and practical location, close to trams and local bars/ restaurants. Lovely vibe and very friendly, helpful staff. Could improve on some details for example the huge TV picked up hardly any stations and the sliding bathroom door had a mind of it's own requiring two of us to close it sometimes!

We stayed there for about six nights, and everything was perfect (great location, great service, nice view). Our room was spotless, and we really appreciated the hotel’s eco-friendly approach. At some point during one evening we needed medical assistance, there’s always someone at the reception (day and night) and Sjirin, a member of the hotel staff, was incredibly helpful and supportive. Thank you so much for making our stay even better! 😊

A nice hotel with very spacious rooms; we were satisfied. The bathroom was just a bit cold. The view is quite nice, the price is reasonable, there is a nice café at the entrance, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are normal and the taste is okay, and the location isn’t bad either.

A really friendly hotel and a great base for exploring Amsterdam for a few days.
Location was excellent, being away from the centre, but still walkable and being close to tram stops and the Vondelpark meant our stay was very relaxing.
Breakfast was really nice, appreciated it being fully vegetarian, plenty of options and a nice relaxed setting.
Room was very comfortable, quiet, and didn't get too hot and stuffy.

Reception guys made everything to make our stay pleasant, clean rooms. Cool eco friendly things. Wifi works well, not far from downtown but far enough from noisy streets
