They say this place has a 100-year history, but the actual experience was just average. The staff waited for us to arrive before clocking out, and patiently answered our questions. However, there aren't many parking spaces; when we arrived, it was full, so we had to park on a nearby street (which was free). Also, there's no elevator.

This hotel has a long history, so the facilities are a bit dated, but the cleanliness is still good. When I checked in, there was no one at the front desk, so the key was left in an envelope with three candies. My booking didn't include breakfast, but they thoughtfully provided a banana and some cereal. It was a good experience.

The building is very old and right next to the main street, but the windows facing the street wouldn't close. The parking spaces are tiny, and even the hallway lights weren't on, giving the impression that the hotel was closed.

I do not recommend this hotel. 1. There's no Chinese-speaking staff. The front desk person, who was Black, didn't open the door when we rang the doorbell; we had to call them to open it. 2. The hygiene conditions were terrible, as shown in the photos. 3. The surrounding area isn't good. We stayed on the first floor, facing the street, so it was noisy and felt unsafe. 4. The heater is a very old unit; it stops working after a while and has to be manually restarted. Overall, I strongly advise against staying here.

When I was looking for a hotel, I saw that the description mentioned the building was a hundred years old, which piqued my interest, so I booked it. Upon checking in, the Fijian staff member at the front desk told me the building was actually over 110 years old – much older than my family of three combined! I didn't know whether to be amazed or just amazed. Although the building is very old, the stay itself was quite good; it had everything we needed. Plus, the front desk specifically bought a lot of food for breakfast and brought it to our room, which was a unique experience. Walking around Dunedin in the morning, I noticed many old houses and buildings along the streets, giving it a historical feel. However, it seemed like many of them were vacant now, with trash cans just piled up outside. I wonder if it's due to population migration or decline.

A century-old hotel, very vintage. The biggest advantage is the available parking. The suite was tiny, and the toilet flush handle was so old it was practically falling off 🤦

Room is special, clean. The location is near center, however, the gate is just buside the cross which a little bit annoying

A hyped up fast food pizza in the style of Domino's and Pizza Hut. Premade bases and canned ingredients, like most of the places in Dunedin. Three stars is generous.

Bought some takeaway pizzas tonight and we're quite surprised by the way we had underestimated the size of the medium size pizzas (our fault). We ordered an extra pizza when we went to pick up and having seen our surprise of the pizza sizes the pizza store owner made us a very generous offer for the extra pizza, it was done very quickly and tasted great.

The crust of their pizza and overall quality is far superior than the big ticket pizza places like Domino's and Pizza Hut, which explains the higher price of their pizzas. It is less than a five minute walk from our place but we don't order pizza from the place purely because the affordability. It is a gourmet and small operation. The place is very tidy and has a few tables where you can eat your pizza.
