Distinction Dunedin Hotel, Dunedin1 / 24
9.1
Dunedin, 6 Liverpool Street (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Great location, the breakfast was good.
Just checked out from Distinction Hotel Dunedin! central location is good —steps to The Octagon and all city spots, perfect for exploring on foot. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable with all essentials; property is a little dated but well-maintained with everything working perfectly. Friendly, helpful staff and a nice breakfast spread too. Fantastic value for money, a solid convenient base for...
Wonderful. Had the 2 bedroom apartment for sons graduation. Was spacious and all amenities provided including iron, hair dryer and microwave, fridge. Was comfortable and warm. Great location and accessible parking.
The location is great. The beds in the studio room are comfortable. You can walk to the city center for sightseeing and foods.
Nice centrally located accommodation.
GOOD LOCATION AND NICE SERVICE.I WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

The room was clean and the location is great!!!
I dont know the car park needed to make reservation at all, other is ok
Great stay. Spacious room. Clean and great location. Carpark could be a problem
Clean and tidy. The room had high ceilings which was very comfortable. The price was even cheaper than some motels. For this price, staying in a hotel of this caliber is truly amazing value for money. The only downside was that parking was quite inconvenient; if you want to park, you need to book early, but even then, you'll likely not get a spot as there are only about a dozen available.
Very good Hotel, clean rooms and if you're get a room in the upper Floors you'll have a very good view over the city and area. Breakfast was also good.
It is a very good hotel. Rooms are tidy and clean. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place.

Immaculate, quiet and with great facilities. Easy walk into central Dunedin.
The whole experience was great, helpful friendly staff, beautiful apartment, a real luxury stay with everything need to enjoy a lovely property
Yes to both. Only issue was working out how to use the washing machine. Simple operation is always best. Great host & beautiful room.
We had such a lovely stay at Bluestone on George. It’s a little slice of luxury in a great location. We only stayed two nights but had everything we needed. Parking was also easy and convenient on the hotel grounds which is something that was important to us during our three week road trip. Highly recommend staying here.
Great location walking distance to downtown malls, restaurants, and the iconic train station. Rooms are large, immaculately clean, and had everything you could need including in-room laundry and jacuzzi. All this for a reasonable price.
The property was very clean, had stylish decor and lots of thoughtful amenities - such as a well-equipped kitchenette, washing machine and comfortable seating area. The location was convenient to town and the university and the off-street parking was an added bonus. Will definitely be going back there to stay again.

Dunedin, 118 High Street (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of convenient dining options nearby. Although it's a motel, it's significantly better than the one we stayed at in Queenstown! The room was spacious and quiet. The only downside was the lack of an induction cooker; we couldn't even cook instant noodles, only microwave them. We left the dirty bowls in the sink, and to our surprise, they were all replaced...
Very convenient and many restaurants nearby.
The location is great walking distance to the street.
Very short visit to see friends. So handy to Main Street. Always great service here.
Located around the city centre, with a lot of restaurants and shops just outside the hotel. Free parking for staying guest, guest can also use their washing machine. Room is clean and big, with free wifi access.
Everything is good, except for the bed size which is quite small…queen size

Great location for exploring the inner city. Clean room. Basic amenities. Friendly courteous staff. Would definitely seek to stay again.
Clean, frendly, pet friendly.
It was comfortable, Gary, Robin and Mak were very welcoming :}
Comfortable, clean and pet friendly! 😍 Very comfortable stay. The hosts are so kind and being pet friendly makes it even more special.
Lovely warm, bright, comfortable and clean unit. Good to have some cooking facilities. Studio unit is quite small but that’s what we expected
Owner was very helpful and knowledgeable of the surrounding area and where to visit.

Dunedin, 12 Filleul Street (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Very close to the Octagon. Basic breakfast but it was free. Had to go outside to get to the bathrooms which was a bit strange. Overall value for money
No complaints. It was good for one night. Very good location.
Good location in the middle of the city, bed was comfy enough, but lacks curtains, overall clean and good to meet people.
I stayed in a private bedroom with ensuite - clean, modern, away from the communal kitchen and showers, so it was quiet. Having the pool tables (free to backpackers, 1/2 price on Fri/Sat) downstairs - fun to play a few games there with people I met in the backpackers' kitchen. I'll be going back to On Top next time I'm in Dunners!
Great stay thanks. Close to everything you need. The staff were freindly and obliging.
Very cosy. Bed too soft and my neck feels uncomfortable.

The Commodore Dunedin is a great place to stay. The hosts and staff are the kindest people you can meet, very generous people. The Commodore is an easy flat walk into the city, well located. The room size is very generous, the room had two bedrooms, lounge, kitchen area, and good size bathroom, much better than the shoe box rooms you get in the centre of town. Next time in Dunedin, we'll be staying...
Immaculately clean and tidy. Rick and the team were extremely kind and helpful. Having the botanic gardens right next door was a real treat to walk through in the mornings. And watching the wood pigeons right outside our window. I can't recommend this place highly enough!!!
Clean and tidy. Close to one way so had a wee bit of street noise. Great location close Logan Park for tournament. Rick the owner was very helpful and friendly.
Excellent stay at Commodore Motel Impeccably clean, quiet, and ideally located with easy access to shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The staff were professional and welcoming. We were thoroughly satisfied with our stay and would not hesitate to return.
Reception help was so good. I had a very sick husband in hospital and I was looked after so caring and thoughtful. Stayed there a second time. Rooms is clean and big they put the heater on for me before I arrived. You will not make a mistake to choose this motel. Recommend!
Lovely accomodation. Comfy bed. Very clean. Easy to walk to Botanic Gardens. Very helpful staff. Would definitely stay again when in Dunedin.

Nice room, comfortable, good location, easy parking. Nothing much else to say. I would return.
Comfortable bed. Clean room , clean toilet , nice staff Wonderful stay
This Motel had everything you could want for a stay and more. I usually sleep with a fan and even a fan was provided. I requested a ground floor studio unit and everything was clean and inviting. The shower was great and the toiletries provided plentiful. Great stay. Definitely recommend this property.
accommodation was very comfortable and was convenient to city centre
I booked the hotel early and asked for the first floor, but it was not available. I was disappointed.
The location is close to the main street and you can walk to the main attractions, but the city has ups and downs and it can be a bit tiring to walk. The one-bedroom apartment has a living room and a kitchen, which is very convenient with a full set of kitchen utensils and tableware. The University of Otago is very beautiful. If you are interested, you can visit the School of Art. It is so beautiful

It was a lovely stay. Very near the important locations such as a few Catholic Churches for weekday mass, University of Otago, the Octagon and a 24h convenience store. We had a car and parking was easy.
Friendly service, clean and convenient.
The bed is very soft, the space is large, the bathroom is great, and it's close to the university and places to eat.
My husband and I spent two nights here to go to the cricket game. The facilities are perfect in everyway. To have the cafe on the corner was really convenient. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go from the motel. Pete was most obliging and we certainly will be staying here again. Many thanks.
Fantastic nicely well rounded place to stay, very friendly staff and quiet and dark rooms.

Our stay was fantastic! Lindsay was amazing and went above and beyond for us i can't recommend them enough
The owners were very friendly. Good value for money as we only needed a bed for 1 night stay.
Overall, this accommodation was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The unit was very spacious, well-maintained, and spotlessly clean upon arrival, which immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease. The layout was practical and suitable for both short and longer stays, with ample space to move around and relax. One of the biggest advantages was how easy the place was to locate. I stayed for two nights in Dunedin on New Zealand's South Island, and this motel was, without a doubt, the most delightful accommodation of my entire trip! Even though the motel is 25 years old, it's impeccably clean and perfectly maintained. The walls, floors, and bedding are spotless – you wouldn't guess its age at all. Its cleanliness surpasses many newer hotels, making for a truly comfortable...
This is so far the best motel stay of my NZ holiday. The room is big and everything is sparkling clean. There’s plenty of room, the bed is very big. The bed linen is like brand new. Most of all, the landlord is super nice. I left my wallet at the reception when I checked in. This gentleman came and gave it to me. On the checking out day, I left my phone charge at the bedside. He left message for me...

This staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location. Rooms were clean quiet and spacious. We were very satisfied.
The unit was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Good value for money. We’ll stay there again if we’re back in Dunedin.
There were 2 levels of service in this property. Daytime staff were excellent - went above and beyond to assist. Were friendly and helpful. Evening staff were offhand and disinterested in a couple of issues we had.
Property is in a good location close to eateries. Off street parking is great. Only downside is that some of the units are a bit tired.

Very friendly, helpful staff when we arrived.  Access after hours was clear and worked well  Room was very clean.   We didn’t eat at the motel.  It was central to everything we needed and easy walking to the city and shops
The only thing we are not happy about the place is that : we arrived the hotel on Wednesday, and would check out on Sunday. We used a halved coca-cola box to put the snacks we bought from supermarket and things we we took off our car when we back to the hotel every night. For the first two nights the box and the things inside it stayed there. On that Saturday we would attend our son's university graduation...
We was late about 10min checked in at night. But the person in charge was still very friendly n helpful to helped us carried the luggage due to there was some distance from my car to the building that we stayed. Overall was cool and comfortable. The location was great and perfect as just very close to the octagon.
Due to the possibility of all-night road works adjacent to the Motel, the staff offered us a change of room to a quieter part of the complex. We gratefully accepted this!
Although an older building, it was in large part well maintained. We were upgraded to a suite which made our stay very enjoyable, but I’m sure from what we saw a studio would still have been nice. Stayed 3 nights. The manager was really helpful.
The room facilities are rather simple, but the hotel is in a very good location, within walking distance to Dunedin Railway Station, churches and other attractions. The hygiene and service are average, but free parking is available.

Can walk to central area easily. Room is very nice and clean.
We recommend to stay here. Very unique place to stay - it was way better than we expected
They say this place has a 100-year history, but the actual experience was just average. The staff waited for us to arrive before clocking out, and patiently answered our questions. However, there aren't many parking spaces; when we arrived, it was full, so we had to park on a nearby street (which was free). Also, there's no elevator.
This hotel has a long history, so the facilities are a bit dated, but the cleanliness is still good. When I checked in, there was no one at the front desk, so the key was left in an envelope with three candies. My booking didn't include breakfast, but they thoughtfully provided a banana and some cereal. It was a good experience.
When I was looking for a hotel, I saw that the description mentioned the building was a hundred years old, which piqued my interest, so I booked it. Upon checking in, the Fijian staff member at the front desk told me the building was actually over 110 years old – much older than my family of three combined! I didn't know whether to be amazed or just amazed. Although the building is very old, the stay...

Some might rate this lower as it’s an old motel…no super fancy anything. But CLEAN, great linens, great location & garage to park your car in. AND reasonably priced. Also, last 3 places we stayed we had to get help to turn the frickn’ tv on. We just want to watch the 6 pm news. Not navigate the 50 free channels!
We were welcomed by Brian and the motel was central to everything we needed and we found it fab
Every thing was fine. Clean. Good staff. Close to city centre.
Very clean and comfortable, with useful kitchenette and free undercover parking all you really need.
The room was comfortable with good amenities (kitchenette & electric blanket were great). It was near downtown shops, Speight’s, and the bus stop.

The room was clean, but there was no hot water when we checked in. We noticed there was a shared hot water tank for both the first and second floors, and it's possible the first-floor occupants used it up first, leaving us without hot water. We called the front desk, and they said they wouldn't be able to fix it until the next day. So we contacted Ctrip through their back-end system, and within five...
Room was cozy and was exactly what we needed. The staff was excellent going above and beyond our expectations.
The house is full of history, the kitchenette is well-equipped, and there is an electric heater on the bed to keep out the cold nights. It is very close to the university and botanical gardens.
Great customer service and very welcoming. Was nice being taken to my room. And offered help. Curtains were slightly small for windows and bed was extremely uncomfortable. Maybe leavimb information around heating coming into winter will be a good idea also.
Just look past the decor and the suite was great. We would come back here because of its proximity to the university halls of residence.

Very good, service, layout and facilities are all very good A few points that need to be improved, 1. There is no heating in the bathroom, and the washing is very cold. 2.
