Staff as friendly and helpful as always, room very clean, the use of washing machines and dryers was awesome. Breakfast seemed a bit expensive until seeing the selection and variety, was well worth the money

Our stay was perfect ,the room clean and the bed comfortable, the dining room offered a first class menu, the actual meal itself was equal to the best meal I have ever eaten. Fully recommend this place to stay

On the day of checking-in, we found hair and stain marks (mud?) on the bed covering on both beds, however after showing the receptionist the photos, they took it seriously and reacted fast.  The room got cleaned while we were out. Excellent stay , yet again. Just a little dated, carpet and some of the facilities require a facelift. Facilities are good, except I would like to see the gym given some investment.

Always loved staying here. Little disappointed in the dirty bedding in both rooms we booked. No towels in one of the room or toilet paper. Popped into reception and I was given clean bedding, towels & toilet paper to sort issue.

We love this place! We've stayed here before and knew we would come back again. We just left to come home everytime we come and stay we feel like we never want to leave. Honestly every is just awesome here from the staff, the views, the feels and safety. Also how close everything is to you. It's perfect no doubt we will be back! Thank you Belt Road staff.

I 100% give this place a five star rating. It’s cozy and very clean. The hotel gives a very historic feeling yet the rooms are modern and set up well. The owner is friendly and very accommodating. Room was spotless but quite small for a studio. Amenities were fairly complete but no toaster and the counter top was again small. Bathroom was tiny. The hot3l itself was lovely with nice artwork and the guest lou ge was a welcome room to relax in. Guest laundry was also a bonuss. Staff was great.

The rooms were very well kept with very comfy beds and extra pillows or bedding if required, as well as all you would need in the kitchenette. The staff were also super friendly and helpful, full of recommendations of things to do in the area, not to mention it’s located right in town making you close to everything.

Everything was ok but place is very noisy .Very poor bathroom service no toothpaste or soap service which is basic . No air-con in rooms just roof fan which is very slow .But Reception lady was very nice and friendly . Close to town .

Stayed at the Metrotel for 4 nights while we had a wedding near by. Happened to be the same weekend as Americana so the hotel was fully booked. We have booked an apartment with The Metrotel. It was a pleasure to stay at this motel in New Plymouth. The staff were welcoming and polite, the apartment was well-equipped and spotless clean. The Metrotel is located literally near the coastline within 3 minutes walking distance. It’s just far enough from the crowded going out-area with the cafes and restaurants. Lovely room, clean, good amenities. Unfortunately spoiled by the view, into a back alley, very noisy in alley thru night and in early am. Wouldn’t want to sit on balcony with that view😥

We had a great family stay here. The unit was clean and well set up, with everything we needed. Plenty of space, comfortable beds, and it was nice and quiet. Staff were welcoming and accommodating. Convenient location close to shops and attractions. Highly recommend for families.

I was just there the one night, but very impressed. I got a modern, spacious room with everything I needed, and at a fair price. It was quiet too, the double glazing really helps, as it is on a fairly busy road.

The unit itself and furnishing were lively however the sheet on the single bed too big the soap dispenser in the bathroom hand basin not working properly and I'm not sure the room was vacuum ed before we took over the premises...overall not bad and yes I'd stay again.

The room smelt like mutton fat as soon as we walked in. The room was tidy but because of the smell it felt dirty. Some stronger scented cleaning chemicals needed or something to deoderise the room would make a huge difference.

Location good - facilities old Good location close to the centre of New Plymouth, the museum and Coastal walk. Facilities are rather dated. Basic but adequate kitchen. Shower was way too strong and the water pressure couldn't be controlled.

We stayed in a 2 bed apt. It was wonderful. So clean and spacious. The most comfy beds and tidy kitchnette. Tv in the main bedroom, and a spa tub. Other motels could learn from these guys!

The room was older but very clean, the wall was cracked, the carpet stained and the toilet not bolted to the floor. None of things made the stay any less funtional and the service standard and facilities were excellent. It was excellent for our family and we would stay again.

The motel is older but well maintained. A pleasant staff member checked us in, the rooms were neat and tidy, the swimming pools and grounds were well maintained, and we enjoyed our stay.

Road noise made it impossible (for us) to sleep without earplugs. Very clean and had all the normal practical things you need, but we were there to get sleep/rest and that was problematic. A more modern motel would have effective soundproofing…Unfortunately that would mean huge costs for the owner of this one. Heavier sleepers no doubt won’t have an issue.

An excellent place to stay - Jim made us very welcome. The location is ideal, being handy to places to eat, the Govett Brewster Gallery and the spectacular coastal walkway. Good price. The room was big enough for the 3 of us. The beds were very comfortable. Staff is nice and they were kind enough to let us check in after hours. Good location right in the city centre. The only bad thing is that the area looks a bit sketchy and unsafe but nothing happened

Can't fault it amazing place good people there very nice I loved it I suggest you should just get ear buds to sleep if the bands are playing on a weekend night if you don't like a little bit of loud music
