I had four nights at Canyon Hotell which proved to be the perfect base to explore the arctic. Aeventyr is based out of there which made it super convenient to pack in lots of adventures: snowshoeing, dog sledding, whale watching rib boat and snowmobiling. Plus the Northern Lights Cathedral is right there. There’s even a free ice skating pond outside the door (which I didn’t do but looked fun!). The room was really nice and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were nice. The restaurant isn’t open every day so make sure to go when it is- great food. The bar is open every day and they had nice wines and the great Nord Lys pilsner on tap. Also nearby I went to Erica and Nori which were both nice. I ended up having snowmobiling rescheduled due to a storm, so I had unexpected free time. There’s a shopping mall right there for browsing and I also went to the cinema. The package I booked included airport transfers which was very convenient (and quick, only around 10 minute drive) and they were so helpful and flexible when my flight was cancelled and I ended up coming in very late. Highly recommended all around!

Refreshing to experience this hotel compared to the more traditional hotels in Alta. Friendly and international staff, great service. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed during my stay, hoeever not far to two excellent restaurants Erica and Nori, both highly recommended.

The location was great and the staff was fantastic. The room was somehow very dusty, whenever we moved we could see it in the air around us. The breakfast had everything most people want, but it was still very basic.

Comfortable hotel in the centre of Alta, stayed here for just one night as part of our journey to Bergsfjord for a fishing holiday, clean, comfortable beds, decent breakfast and friendly staff, has its own restaurant and bar, decent price for what was delivered

Great serves and wonderful staff. Booked a room for a friend's bachelorets party, she loved it. The room were spacious and the bed was soft. The restaurant had amazing food, the staf was so nice and made shure we had everythingwe needed. We had an amazing evening. We felt they went above and beyond every step of the way.

Canyon Hotel in Alta is poorly maintained, leaving a negative first impression with its entrance featuring missing tiles and an overall shabby appearance. The best aspect of the hotel is its location, right in the heart of Alta city center. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a rather intense receptionist who insisted on charging me 200 kroner for early check-in, despite the fact that I arrived about an hour before the official check-in time and my room was already ready. This added to the unsettling atmosphere, which was further heightened when I encountered an employee in the hallway wearing a balaclava. I had booked a room for two adults, but the bed was so narrow that it really only accommodated one person. The narrow space around the bed made it difficult to get in and out, with only about 1 foot of clearance on each side. Additionally, there was a peculiar odor in the room, and the bathroom sink was clogged, causing drainage issues. The internet connection was unstable, making streaming impossible. The only option for watching TV was through Chromecast, which proved challenging due to the poor internet connection. Ultimately, I had to use my own mobile phone as a hotspot to watch TV, which quickly consumed my entire data plan.

Stayed one night with family (wife + 9 yo boy) Room felt a bit small/cramped. They had a lift which moved slow. Heating within the room was good so while it was freezing outside we were comfortable in there. Stay came with breakfast which had an average spread. Cereals, bacon, bread, juices. Location is the best part here as it is right in the middle of Alta. Next to the shopping mall. Walking distance to the church. Hotel Room: 3 Stars (Standard room) Room View: 3 Stars (View of the construction next door) Service of Staff: 4 Stars (Generally helpful) Lounges/Restaurants: 4 Stars (Breakfast was good) Room Service: NA Location: 5 Stars (Centre of Alta. Paid parking at the mall)

Very good experience so far, I was checked ln by a pretty and pro Hotel staff. Good rooms and breakfast. Clean and tidy. Bathroom is good and beds comfortable. Chromecast works perfect. All inn all good standard at a good price. Very sentral also

Very rustic but at the same time very moder style hotel. Rooms are big and the bed...... The bed is as soft as a cloud 💭 Food is amazing. The staff is friendly. The surrounding area is quiet and relaxing, with a lot of bars and restaurants within hand reach.

Easter Sunday and left standing outside for one and a half hours for the door entrance code to be sent.This was the case for a number of guests. Emergency contact number went to messaging service Poor
