The location was great. I had a room facing the Northern Lights Cathedral which got nice views with the northern lights one night. The room was comfortable and a good size for one. Everything was great. Rooms a a tad dated but property was great for a night. Breakfast was good and they are allowing a 2p checkout.

They had a new intern practising his job. He was the best. He was so helpful and nice when our family arrived. Also other staff was great!

Alta is a small city, and the hotel is in the city center. The central bus station is just across the street, next to the city's only shopping mall, which has a supermarket and some restaurants. How is it possible to not have black-out curtains in a place that you know the sun it's out on the sky non-stop.

A perfect spot for activities in Alta, nicely located in the town centre, in direct vicinity of the Nortjern Lights Cathedral. Nice and cozy rooms, can be a bit noisy at weekends.

Was very pleasant stay! We could see a part of aurora from our room windows! And the bed was so soft, we had a very good rest! And the restaurant breakfast/dinner was amazing!!!

I had four nights at Canyon Hotell which proved to be the perfect base to explore the arctic. Aeventyr is based out of there which made it super convenient to pack in lots of adventures: snowshoeing, dog sledding, whale watching rib boat and snowmobiling. Refreshing to experience this hotel compared to the more traditional hotels in Alta. Friendly and international staff, great service. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed during my stay, hoeever not far to two excellent restaurants Erica and Nori, both highly recommended.

The location was great and the staff was fantastic. The room was somehow very dusty, whenever we moved we could see it in the air around us. The breakfast had everything most people want, but it was still very basic.

We did not stay in the hotel, but we visited the ice hotel to enjoy the beautiful sculptures and the amazing artwork, that the hotel itself is. It is very much worth a visit, to admire this special type of accommondation, even if you need to leave an entrance fee.

So wanted to come here to stop in the Ice Hotel. Slept really well! On arrival they took you through the procedure for sleeping in the Ice room. The sleeping bags were very warm and due to my thermals I was very earm and comfortable. Theres places to sit if you needed to to come back in and warm up. This review is just for the Iglu Hotel visit. It’s quite nice so far, if you haven’t visit another ice hotel so far. I compare it with the one i visited in Lapland last year, close to Rovaniemi. Everything about Sorrisniva was above and beyond our expectations. Booking our stay and excursion package, airport transfers and check-in went very smoothly. Great Hotel/Lodge, very friendly staff. When the Northern Lights are there, you can easily see it from your room with a stunning landscape in the background. It is convenient to have breakfast and two dinner restaurants. However whilst the food is good, for the price I would have expected slight higher quality of the dishes.

Hotel`s on the banc of Alta fjord. There`s room with view on the fjord. Nice. Bed is comfortable, room`s grand and clean. Bathroom`s good. Window has got lightproof curtains. The hotel gives a spectacular view of the fjords and mountains. Rooms are beautifully done up with themes giving it a slick look. The restaurants was array of collection. There is a TV room with DVDs which one can use It is 15-20 minutes by walk from the city centre The staff are very polite, friendly and courteous. The owner (Shiv) is a wonderful lady and has lot of tips for travellers.

This was in best place in Alta, if you want to wake up in morning and see beautiful icy mountains and sea. It was looking like some painting. Easy to get amazing pictures from here. Beds were good to sleep and everything was clean and breakfastroom was so nice and different lookin. Nice way different. :) I can recommend this hotel. Biz it was again for me in early March. Alta on schedule, inbound from Kirkenes by Wideroe. According to the airports website there is a bus service downtown available. Sure it is, but with the only movement at all during this time they told me that the bus runs only for larger planes and definitely not for the small Wideroe Dash. My room at Altafjord Gjestegaard & Spa was nothing special and therefore too expensive. Besides it was cold in it because the heater's plug had been pulled out of the socket, for whatever reason. The furniture in the room were not so new anymore. The breakfast was good, but the lady, running this guesthouse, was, when I checked-in, not so service-orientated.

An excellent small hotel with a good location. Customer service was professional and friendly. First class breakfast. Views from seaside rooms are unique. Quiet and safe area. Interior is carefully designed and very pleasant. I can recommend thus establishment.
