Jebel Shams Resort, Bahla1 / 12
7.8
Bahla, 655X+62 Al Hayl Al-Hamra 🧭 Map
My wife and I were pleasantly impressed by how well run the Resort is. We were given a corner room 14, with easy access to glorious sunset views at the back. Rooms were comfortable, showers good, except they did not have cupboards for hanging clothes We had buffet dinner & breakfast, & the spread & food was decent. Service from reception to bell boy to dining room staff were all helpful. Popular with...
Perfect place to stay before or after experiencing the 9km long Balcony Walk along the spectacular Jebel Shams canyon, starting some four kms away from the resort. To get to the resort you have to tackle a quite steep 20 km gravel/sand road which we did in a solid 4*4, though we saw people driving a normal car (very slowly and with sweaty hands, I imagine). Considering the remoteness and accessibility...
Fairly large hotel all set out in separate cabins. Our room was large and very comfortable. There was a bit of a smell in the bathroom. There is heating in the rooms but no extra blankets and it was very cold the night we were there. The breakfast was excellent.
Second stay very pleasant from all points of view: the welcome, the restaurant, the accommodations. All the staff are very professional and friendly. The renovation work is magnificent and the location remains unbeatable for all visitors, hikers or not. To discover or rediscover
Perfect place to explore the mountains! We went with our family and it was super clean and comfortable, with truly incredible food (best salads in Oman) and a gret spot to explore the mountains. Stunning views and everyone so helpful and friendly
Fantastic restaurant for an evening meal after a day’s hiking on the incredible Jebel Shams. Whether it’s the Balcony Walk or the ascent of Jebel Shams, Jebel Shams Resort offers a wide ranging buffet experience that will refuel you and your companions after an inspiring days hiking on Omans most spectacular mountain.

The hotel is in the middle of the city , about 300 meters from nizwa fort , very close to all the major attractions, the property manager Mr. Hussain and his team took care of me every well, would highly recommend this place.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice room in perfect location: just outside the city center, but in a quiet, green place surrounded by green bushes and birds. We had a room on the roof, which meant we got the roof terrace to ourselves. Very lovely.
Excellent location. Near the souk and Nizwa fort Owner are very nice and welcoming. Affordable price Highly recommended
Pros: Excellent location, about a 10-minute walk from the souq and fort (and historical Nizwa) but also quiet enough to get a great night’s sleep. Comfortable bed, great AC, fan too if the AC gets too cold. EXCELLENT WiFi in room 7- super happy I got upgraded me to this room as I had asked for powerful WiFi in order to work. There’s also a wonderfully grumpy Persian cat who I looooove. Also laundry...
⸻ We spent two nights at Nima Hostel. I can confidently say it’s one of the best and coolest hostels in Nizwa. It’s only a five-minute walk to the city center, and you can enjoy walking through the charming alleyways at night. The atmosphere of the hostel is friendly, calm, and clean. Hossein is a kind and knowledgeable man, and he’s always ready to help with any questions you have about Nizwa.
The people here are very nice, very polite. The room we stayed was amazing and the bed was the softest, the cleanest and one of the best beds I have ever stayed in. I missed the goat market on Friday because the bed was so nice!

Heritage village it is. The surrounding gives the vibes of archaeological site. Roads are narrow and challenging but woth the experience. Rooms were well managed and well equipped. Breakfast was very good and u have a selection from American breakfast and Arabic breakfast. Staff was nice and communicative. Recommend for whoever looking to escape to the heritage era🙂
Cute little inn in traditional style, situated right next to the fort and the souq. The rooms are clean and spacious in renovated traditional omani style. The reception staff was extremely nice and welcoming. They prepared a very early take away breakfast for us upon a short notice.
Absolute vibrant, authentic, beautiful and comfortable experience. Loved it and very welcoming and helpful. Thank you NHI. I wish I could have stayed longer. Only improvement: please get cleaner to be better with the toilets and bin. Everything else is clean and good. :-)
Definitely the place has characters and charm. Room was rather small and the place needs some upgrading, maintance and a good cleaning. No major issues with parking though visited during April.

Stayed here 2 nights. Hotel is clean, modern and situated on the busy outskirts of Nizwa with restaurants walkable nearby. It’s a short (10 min) drive to the centre and the sights of the old quarter. Rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet and a good size. Staff are helpful and we were impressed that a minor maintenance problem in our bathroom was spotted by cleaning staff and fixed while we were out before...
A hotel that exceeded expectations. In all aspects, it is better than other hotels of the same level in Oman. The staff are warm and helpful.
Excellent value. Very helpful and courteous staff. Great collection of books about the area at the reception.
Nestled in authentically Nizwa View, scenic majestic mountains loom along the flowing river beds front and back of the hotel. Functional pools and cozy rooms with excellent foods are served. Highly recommended if you want to visit Nizwa. Overall great stay. Kudos!
Al Diyar was booked by my Omani Travel Agent and I'm sure this motivation was "price". It is a cheap hotel and you could argue it offers excellent value for money. Its location of about 4km from Nizwa souks, there's nothing in the area, so you will need a car. There is a large pool in the central courtyard. I tried to buy a drink from the restaurant, but they only seem to have juice (obviously no alcohol...
Just perfect! Very neat and clean. very reasonable prices. I've stayed here 3 times in the last 12 months.

If you want to get around on your own terms, you'll need a car if you're staying here. Ample parking on site. It's located a few miles away from the Nizwa fort, but getting there is extremely straightforward indeed. We found the on-site restaurant had plenty of options and was very good, so would question the need to go off-site in the evenings, unless it is for something in particular. Breakfast...
I stayed at Falaj Daris Hotel in Nizwa and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is ideally located for exploring Nizwa, with easy access to the city’s main attractions like the Nizwa Fort and Souq. It’s a great base for discovering the historical and cultural wonders of the area. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
The hotel is excellent, boasting clean rooms and a professional, courteous staff. We were graciously permitted a late check-out, adding to the convenience of our stay. While the breakfast buffet was decent, not overly lavish, it satisfied our needs. The swimming pool was pristine and well looked after. Situated in the heart of the city, the hotel offers easy access to numerous attractions. Nizwa Fort...
The best value for money hotel in the area!
We first visited The Falaj Daris Hotel in the 90's when it was only one of a couple of hotels available in Nizwa. The whole place has, and is being refurbished. Rooms were very nice, well appointed and very clean. We spent 2 nights in a double room with ensuite. We used the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner and the food and service were excellent. The hotel is licensed and has a small selection...
We stayed here for two nights to explore Nizwa and surroundings. We liked the hotel quite a lot. We especially appreciated the layout - it's really nice to step outside your hotel room and be outside (and not in a dark hallway). The hotel was clean and it was nice to relax by the pool in the afternoon. Food was also good; we especially liked the al la carte dinner menu. Breakfast was very continental...

Nice modern hotel with a swimming pool on the roof. Our room had a good bed and shower. There is free WiFi available throughout the hotel. The breakfast buffet was ok. There are 2 shopping malls next to the hotel, but the city center is 7,5 km away. The hotel does not serve alcohol.

Book at this hotel for one night to rest before heading home. - Reception was fast and smooth in admitting us. - Room service are very friendly. - Swimming pool was clean. - Room was tidy. Cons; - Some towels in our room had stain. - Requested a baby cot while booking but upon check-in it was not in the room. Had to request it again and was immediately delivered.
Three star property, therefore, deserves three stars being on the bright side. Strategically located with access to terrace swimming pool. Food is good. Value for money. Cordial staff

The hotel is on the Green Mountain. You need a four-wheel drive to go up the mountain. The room you check in is facing north and there is no sun☀. I don’t know if it is discrimination or something else. It may also be because it is not a direct partner hotel of Ctrip but an agent hotel. Be careful in choosing in the future. The hotel environment is still very beautiful, but it is too cold🥶. The temperature...
Our stay at Anantara was okay but nothing more. To start with something positive, the staff was really friendly and attentive which was great! Breakfast was outstanding as well and the architecture od the hotel was beautiful. Other things, however, were simply not good enough for the price you pay. Firstly, no one was at the entrance to greet us when we arrived with our car. We had to find the parking...
Everything was good. I was the only one who came to the hotel by myself. Diana corner was full of couples. During dinner, a singer came to sing perfect, which made me look even more miserable. The hotel cats were not afraid of people. The black cat was a little injured. I bought a lot of cat and dog food from muscat to feed them during hiking. Later, the hike was cancelled and I decided to lie down...

Good location, hotel is nice but need some maintenance (e.g. we had issues with warm water). During winter season service outside in the swimming pool not active.
Currently closed until June 2018 for renovations. The original upscale hotel with a killer view that unfortunately changed hands in 2015. We'll see if the new management can steer this prime location to profitibility while maintaining good customer services and amenities when it reopens...
If you’re interested in discovering the real nature – and the true character – of the country you should make sure that the Sahab Hotel is part of the itinerary for your bespoke holiday to Oman. The comfortable Sahab Hotel will give you an immediate introduction to the hospitable welcome and the careful attention to detail that is a part of the Omani make-up, but what makes this hotel different is...
It's got great view however this hotel needs big maintenance in many things. The water was not draining out of the shower sink and shower pressure was too low.
Come in April when the local villages' rose farms are in full bloom and you can try fresh rose water.
