Reviews
Old and broken furniture, negative attitude, charges everywhere and no focus on gust satisfaction
My wife broke her leg only about 10 meters from the hotel, on the beach, during an activity that the hotel actively promotes and markets to guests. Despite this happening essentially on their premises and through an activity they advertise, the hotel management refused to take any responsibility whatsoever. They offered no help, no compensation, no support of any kind. Not even basic human concern. Their attitude was cold, careless, and extremely unprofessional.
The management’s behavior was shocking. Instead of helping us in a serious emergency situation, they treated us like an inconvenience.
On top of this, the rooms were dirty, with insects, old and rotten furniture, and very poor maintenance. This is absolutely not the standard one would expect from a resort that claims to be high-end.
The hotel is also overpriced for no reason. You pay premium prices but receive low-quality service, poor facilities, and zero accountability.
To summarize:
No concern for guest safety
Extremely poor and heartless management
Dirty rooms with insects
Old, worn-out and rotten furniture
Completely overpriced
We will never return and strongly advise others to stay somewhere else.
The hotel is very well connected to a clean, sandy beach, making it easy to enjoy the sea at any time of day. The main bar, operating under the all-inclusive formula, serves absolutely delicious dishes with great variety and excellent quality. Guests can also enjoy a large swimming pool surrounded by stunning water canals and charming bridges, which give the resort a unique and picturesque character.
A great advantage is the convenient melex (electric cart) transport between neighboring hotels of the same brand, as well as free access to the aqua park included in the price. This makes the hotel a fantastic base for exploring the area while still offering plenty of attractions on-site. Above all, the service deserves special praise — the staff are professional, attentive, and provide care at the highest level. A truly wonderful place for a relaxing and memorable stay.

I booked with Fanar Hotel & Residences originally but apparently there was some issue with my room. I’ve been offered a room at the Rotana instead. So what started as a rocky vacation for me ended up being a dream at the Rotana!
As a solo female traveler I felt very well taken care of from the moment I arrived til the moment I left. All the staff from the reception to the restaurants to the spa have been very friendly and helpful.
The room was bright, friendly and comfortable, offering everything you’d need.
The hotel grounds were well kept and inviting. The beach was clean and lifeguards were there for your safety.
If you have booked all inclusive you can get something delicious to eat all day long.
I also like the fact that they use paper cups/plates instead of plastic.
The only thing that might be missing are some benches on the property to enjoy the outdoors when you are not lounging on the beach!
Oh and on top of all of that: I felt completely safe in everything I did while I was there!
The rooms were impeccably clean, and we didn't encounter any issues during our stay. The cleanliness and attention to detail were top-notch.
But what truly made our stay exceptional were the staff members who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Rabi, who served us at breakfast, was fantastic! His warm smile and attentive service made our mornings truly special.
And then there's Mohammad, the lifeguard at the pool, who was equally impressive. His professionalism, friendliness, and dedication to ensuring everyone's safety made him a standout.
I couldn't fault anything about our stay at Rotana Salalah Resort. The staff's commitment to providing an exceptional experience shines through in everything they do. If you're looking for a resort that truly cares about its guests, look no further. We'll definitely be back!
