Casa da Moura in Lagos

I had an unfortunate experience with this hotel, one that involved rodents. To start, communication is ineffective. They would not respond to booking messages nor pick up the phone prior to my arrival. The man checking me in was unhelpful and impolite to start. Here are my main concerns with this location upon arrival: - man stated that guests need to close the pool door at night to prevent someone from climbing the back wall and entering the hotel (because they leave at 5 pm). Poor security. And I was travelling alone, so this was a poor start. - The rooms themselves were not clean. I found hairs on the pillows and bedspread before even staying in the bed. Floors were sticky and brick was crumbling. - No deadbolt on doors - Stained towels/poor lighting in bathroom - The apartment is rundown and kitchenette is not well equipped. - Saw a mouse run behind the couch - which is why I didn’t even stay the night here. I tried calling twice after this happened, but no one picks up the phone after 5 pm and before 11 am. The hotel doesn’t believe me, and said I needed “proof” that this happened (as in, I was supposed to catch or chase after the mouse for pictures??) I did not even stay the night. The room felt unclean and as a solo traveler, completely unsafe. They won’t refund me, which is fine, I would rather warn others from staying here. So many other well kept places in Lagos, this place is rundown and unclean.
