Grand Hotel Continental Bucuresti Review
Having recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Continental in Bucharest, I can confidently say this establishment lives up to its grand name. The hotel exudes classic elegance, and the service was nothing short of exceptional. Special mention must go to Daniel, the bell boy, whose dedication to guest satisfaction went well beyond his duties, setting a remarkable standard for hospitality.
The hotel's layout is thoughtfully designed, making navigation effortless for guests coming and going throughout their stay. Its pristine cleanliness and classical architecture create an atmosphere of refined luxury that perfectly complements its historical surroundings.
Location-wise, the Grand Hotel Continental could not be better positioned. Stepping out of the main entrance, guests find themselves directly on Bucharest's main thoroughfare, with an abundance of restaurants, shops and cultural attractions within easy walking distance. The city's finest museums are mere minutes away, making it an ideal base for both leisure and business travellers.
Whilst the breakfast was available, we found it rather expensive for what was offered. However, this was not an issue as we discovered a charming café directly across from the hotel that provided excellent morning fare at more reasonable prices.
The rooms maintain the classical elegance found throughout the property, with comfortable furnishings and all modern amenities one would expect from a hotel of this calibre. The attention to detail in both the public spaces and private rooms reflects the hotel's commitment to maintaining its historic charm whilst providing contemporary comfort.
In conclusion, the Grand Hotel Continental Bucuresti offers a superb hotel experience in the heart of Romania's capital. Despite the breakfast pricing, which is easily remedied by numerous nearby alternatives, the hotel's outstanding service, perfect location and classical charm make it a splendid choice for anyone visiting Bucharest. A truly commendable establishment that I would heartily recommend to fellow travellers.

The staff here wonderful. They are all really friendly and happy to help you with your requests. Nothing was too much hassle for them and they always greet you with an approachable smile. We really enjoyed our stay here and are grateful for the excellent service from the staff.

We rented two twin beds rooms for 5 nights. Our rooms were beautiful and extremely spacious with an extra large closet and entryway and very tall ceilings. Although the building dates from 1886, it has been recently renovated and it looks like a period movie scene, its period palace appearance being wonderfully preserved. The very large loby furnished with period pieces and beautifully coordinated colors is a treat and as soon as you enter the space you feel surrounded by beauty. Every space from the bathrooms in the rooms to the large hallways is clean and perfect looking. Staying here was much more than a hotel stay, it was an unforgettable experience!!!

Great Hotel in a Great location
The room was spacious with a large foyer and a large bathroom with tub and shower. It was very clean and in excellent shape for a "grand old hotel." The location was perfect for walking to the performing arts venues during the George Enescu Music Festival (which was magnificent).

The location is excellent, the lobby and restaurant are gorgeously decorated, but the room layout is poor.

Facilities: Terrible. The shower had low water pressure and splashed all over the floor. The washbasin was completely out of place and, worse still, incredibly awkwardly designed. I kept mistakenly turning it on when it was off, getting myself soaked.

I was not satisfied with this trip. There was no hot water in the middle of the night. The deluxe room I booked was on the first floor, which looked like a semi-basement. There was still no hot water when I woke up the next day. Finally, I was moved to the third floor with the coordination of Ctrip. Alas, I will not book again in the future

We loved the history and architecture of the building. Location is close to the Old Town and University areas. Very walkable everywhere. We did not have to use the public transportation on most days.

After 40 mins waiting for the food they told us to wait another 20 minutes, when we complained people that had arrived later had their food they went to get our bill for the drinks... Assuming we wouldn't eat anymore. Finally we got a pizza and a salad after another 10 mins, which were OK value for money. The location and the place is good, but the service is very slow.

Service was ok but it took a long time to get the attention of the staff. It's good value for money and the staff are friendly, the food is responsibly tasty.
Areas to improve:
The food did not come a described, the pizza was described as having rocket but instead came with basil and the starter of vegetables was described as coming with aubergine and didn't. My pasta was also lukewarm.
