We have had an absolutle wonderful time at Rosemary. We have tried the budget room and the deluxe room. Both rooms were excellent. Also the budget room was spciacious. The the deluxe room had a great balcony overlooking the beach. Herbert has been an excellent host and we enjoyed the breakfast very much. We would , and will, return in a heartbeat!

If ever I went to Seychelles for a purely beach holiday, it would be Praslin and Rosemary‘s Guesthouse. Its hedge opens practically directly to the lovely beach, the hotel owns sunbeds which one can take to the beach or in the hotel garden. Actually beach access was better than that of the close-lying expensive hotels. My room was with a terrace which was very pleasant to sit in during the evenings. Room, bathroom and hotel in general were very clean. The was a fridge in the room and a free bottle of water. Breakfast was fine, standard continental and they served especially yummy banana jam. Though Rosemary‘s do not serve other meals besides breakfast, there are lots of eateries very close to the hotel. And, of course, staff should be mentioned – especially nice and friendly. There were practically no negatives. Maybe the bed was on the hard side, but it did not prevet good night sleep.

Best place on Praslin to stay. 20 meters tom the beach and quiet shallow water. Owner is very friendly, helped with excursions. Good breakfast, comfortable room.

Location Location Location!
The place might not be the newest or fanciest, but the location and the lovely owners and staff do the trick here. The rooms are simple, but clean. Make sure you book rooms with sea view, the upgrade is worth it.
Thanks Herbert and team for the lovely time at Côte d’Or. my mum and I had a really good time and enjoyed Praslin very much.

Honestly I was thinking a lot if I should make a review here or not.
The reason I decided doing so is the fact, that I do not agree with the rating of this gueshouse and I would like to help other people to not to make the same mistake as us.
All in all I would not stay in this guesthouse again.
To be fair I will start with the positive part:
The location is wonderful. Yes, it is right on the beach. You just walk out of the garden and you are at one of the best beach in Praslin. The view from the apartment -especially on the 1st floor - is breathtaking.
Herbert is indeed helpful if you have any request. The staff is cleaning the apartment daily, so the rooms are clean. But that is about it for the pros.
Cons:
The apartment is not only very simple, but also in bad condition. We do not have a need for luxury - obviously as we would definitely not have booked this place - but when you are staying somewhere you do expect the bare minimum, such as a comfortable, steady bed.
I can tell you, this was not it. That matrass was probably not changed for over a decade or so. You can simply roll off to the side.
The air condition is not working properly.
We had the airco on all day long with setting of 16 degrees, but the room temperature never went below 29/30 Celsius.
(You can say that, because it is too hot outside, but this was the only place in the Seychelles where we experienced this)
The windows also did not close properly - I do not think this would be a high effort to fix, it seems that there is no will to do so.
The bathroom was indeed simple, but to be honest we had absolutely no problem with that.
In the common area also only half of the lamps were working, which was never fixed during our stay. In my opinion the maintenance of this place is simply missing.
Then, breakfast: it has no variety at all, no cheese, no veggies, no ham or any meat products. All you can get is a juice, a platter with 4 slices of fruits, then 2 slices of toast each and a choice of eggs (scrambled eggs had nothing in it - no onion, no nothing, very plain). You can get an instant coffee if you like. And this is it every single day.
I hope it gives you a clear picture of what you can expect.

We were extremely happy with our stay at Rosemary’s Guesthouse. Upon arrival, we were given the choice between an upstairs or downstairs apartment and ended up with the most beautiful sea view. Herbert kindly helped us with our luggage and remained incredibly helpful throughout our stay.
The location was excellent — right on the beach and next to a very good supermarket. The garden also had a convenient outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach.
Breakfast was absolutely amazing: every morning we enjoyed a fresh fruit smoothie, coffee (although it was instant) or tea, and eggs cooked to order.
The only downsides were that the air conditioning was quite slow and struggled to cool the entire apartment, especially on the first very hot day. The mattress was also a bit old and not very comfortable, and each person was provided with only one pillow, which was quite soft. However, Herbert was always very kind and attentive, doing his best to improve anything he could.
Overall, our experience was wonderful and we would be very happy to return!

Rosemary and her son Herbert are very friendly and helpful . The rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is included, tasty und sufficient (mixture of fresh fruit, toast, jam butter and tea ) . From the open breakfast terrasse you have a nice view of the beach and other islands. You enter from the street and crossing the garden you are directly at the beach. beachchairs are available for free. There are 2 takeaways for food and drink within two minutes of walking distance. Very clean, very friendly and helpful hosts, top location, everything within walking distance, diving school right next door, direct beach location, rooms with sea view, good breakfast, highly recommended!

Very good location with a very nice view. Stores and restaurants are very close! The hotel has a door diretly to Cote D'or beach which is a very beautiful beach!!

Avoid. The only good thing is the location. We sat down and waited almost half hour that the waitress brought us the menu. There was only two other tables besides us. I got a feeling that stuff must be seriously underpaid and they don't enjoy their job. We left before we ordered...

Avoid this place unless you want to pay double price as it is stated on menu. Orange juice on menu 55, they asked me to pay 110, more over we got half glass of water with ice and half orange juice. (Far more not 100% juice ) We requested confirmation - thought maybe it is an unwanted mistake, but they said that's the price, no mistake. Very disappointed, not happy with this quality and service.
