Reviews
Many thanks to the receptionist (our friend from Bangladesh)😊
From time to time, the electricity went out and the water stayed off. It would have been nice if the staff had checked all the rooms themselves, as they are familiar with the problem.
The hostess wrote that if you have a problem you should contact her immediately, which is very good, but the staff member who sat at reception was not really welcoming, friendly and very comfortable... Hospitality looks different.
Breakfast was the same every day, there was toast, coffee, jam, butter, pancakes, fruit, orange juice...egg in different variations....
When I brought this up, they told me that they wanted to save money....
Dear host.... Food and food choices should never be skimped on. If you want to save money, then please go somewhere else... but a healthy balanced breakfast should also be possible on the small island of La Digue.
You have a very great baker around the corner who bakes delicacies every day.
Oatmeal, corn flakes are available in the great supermarkets and so on....
On the whole it was ok, but unfortunately I don't advocate coming back.
It just didn't fit for me overall.... ! It's a shame, because I had chosen this accommodation based on the great reviews.... !
Fist of, the windows... Big windows are fine, but your on the look out. Our "Villa" is right next to the restaurant and I don't want half of them to see me in my pj's... The living room had the same problem but then with the road
Second.... The are some small things. I don't like finding toenails that aren't mine, especially on the table, same goes for hair in the shower. The microwave has the wrong plug, the stove wasn't connected and the muscito net thing around the bed has lots af holls.
The bikes, although this service is provided by a outside company, the are on the hotel premises, and the bikes are a bit outdated compared to the other bikes on the island, meanwhile the prise is the same.
Lastly.... The wifi. Witch for some reason the won't give you the password for, you have to give your divine and the type it in for you. Witch sucs when you take out your tablet at night and realise you can't log on....
Bit of a rant, but the rooms are big, and breakfast is fine. The staff is friendly, but everything is a bit overdue for a upgrade :)
The receptionists were very friendly, the rest of the staff was reserved but nice as well.
My definition of a villa is totally different. The kitchen did not have any basics like oil, salt or other food available. Cooking is hence combined with buying everything on your own, making it more expensive than a restaurant. Furthermore the oven was not connected to gas, so cooking was impossible anyways.
The 'villa' was stuffed on a basic level. Table, beds, the 'kitchen' but no other interior design.
The hotel doesn't supply shower gel or shampoo. I even asked for that, but I was told they don't supply it.
The breakfast was most disappointing. No buffet but one kind of bread and pancakes. Only yam but no cheese, ham, vegetables, joghurt or what else you'd expect on a regular breakfast. The kitchen supplies eggs (omelette, boiled, scrambled, fried) and a plate of fruits and tea.
The hotel is located about 20 minutes walk from the next beach. Be aware the hotel is surrounded by a lot of stray dogs. They were most of the time friendly. If you tend to appear scared they start barking. Also in the night I heard them barking a lot. Once I had to go back to the hotel because two dogs occupied the path between the hotel and the beach.
You can rent bicycles from the hotel for 100 SRP but don't expect much from the bike. It noisily moves. And you are a bit elevated from the stray dogs.
All in all it is a quite place surrounded by nothing than small pathways, no beach access and not much they put on the balance when it comes to room interior and breakfast. I think my 6 day stay on La Digue might have been a better experience in a different hotel.
Otlichnaya gostinitsa. Nomera s nebolshoy kuhney. 10 min na bayke do luchshego plyazha v mire. Gostepriimstvo na vysote! Internet slabyy i tolko v restorane.
