Reviews
The Hotel Meksiko has one major advantage: it is very close to the main bus and train station, making it practical for late arrivals or early departures. It is also located right next to the polyclinic and the emergency room. Surprisingly, despite being next to the ER, there was no disturbing noise from sirens or commotion, so sleep quality isn't affected by sound.
However, the geographical positioning is far from ideal. The view from my room window looked directly onto the emergency room entrance – watching ambulances and patients coming in is not exactly the scenery you hope for on a city break. Additionally, while the station is close, the hotel itself is not in a nice or charming part of the city for a leisurely stroll.
The housekeeping was consistent, with the rooms being cleaned daily, which was a positive point. On the other hand, the breakfast was quite poor and very basic, not matching the price point of the stay. A strange detail is the bathroom situation: while some rooms have their own private bathroom, there are also shared toilets in the hallway. It was unclear to me who uses these and why they are there, which felt odd and a bit outdated.
Overall, this hotel is overpriced for what it offers. It might serve as a functional stopover due to its location near the station and medical facilities, but don't expect good value, a pleasant view, or a proper breakfast.
When we first got our room, although the hotel is all non-smoking rooms, it had a very strong smell of cigarettes. We then asked for a new room and were told that smoking is usual for the guests that come here. We were given a new room which had a key to unlock it rather than a swipe card. Aircon in the new room periodically turned on and off which wasn’t great considering peak summer conditions.
Shower door was missing a seal, meaning water flooded all over the ground outside of the shower despite efforts to keep it contained. The drain was partially clogged as well, so we tried to keep water pressure to a minimum so we didn’t flood the bathroom. Water doesn’t drain towards the actual drain, so it just pools and slowly evaporates.
Worse, we woke up on our final morning to a pool of water near the toilet. On closer inspection it wasn’t just the usual pooling. It was sewer backwash flowing out of the drain next to the toilet. On flushing, more water would be coughed up with mystery chunks from that drain, producing a pungent odor. DISGUSTING. If we hadn’t been checking out that morning I would have left the hotel and never come back… so, so foul. I’m lucky I realised what the water was before stepping in it, my partner was not so lucky.
Parking was difficult to find initially, additional instructions would have helped. In the Booking.com Q&As it says hotel Meksiko staff can help you with free parking; note that the hotel parking is NOT free. Although it’s listed as accommodating up to 13 cars, we found it was a tight squeeze with maybe 7 cars in the underground area and 2 more outside (still undercover). You’ve got to be creative to fit everyone in without parking in the tow-away area. While parking, we were worried they’d oversold the number of spots, since they took our €18x2 without checking how many cars were already paying to use it. Also, on reflection, they never took our car’s registration so there’s no way for them to actually know which car was ours.
Summary: Would not recommend, especially in summer the plumbing issues alone were enough to ruin the stay.
Bugs everywhere, even in the bed! The staff entered without permission and took my personal belongings. The manager showed no interest and didn’t apologize.
This hotel has serious hygiene issues and zero professionalism – it poses a risk to guests’ healt
Our room key was not able to unlock our room for three times in a row and the hotel receptionist simply took our feedback lightly and just swapped our room cards. It was Kanita who took the initiative to go up to our room at level 3 personally to find out the root cause of the problem that turned out that the battery needed changing and it was rectified immediately.
As we had an early morning flight that required a morning pick up at 6:30am, Kanita did everything in her ability to ensure the cab will get us to the airport in time.
To the management of Hotel Meksiko - our stay in Hotel Meksiko was made memorable all because of Kanita! To Kanita - thank you for everything! Have a great 2026!
The breakfast was terrible. there was almost nothing to eat.
You can see the photos. The worst hotel ever I stayed.
