Here you don't feel welcome as a guest. The hotelier (an employee) was unfriendly and stressed all the time. At least in the high season, this hotel cannot be recommended, as the hotelier seems to be overwhelmed by the number of tourists in Piran and in the hotel. Furthermore, it is an impertinence nowadays that it can only be paid in cash and credit card/debit card is not accepted. Conclusion: avoid this hotel!

Excellent location, great view from our window, fabulous and generous breakfasts, superlative coffee. Fresh fruit and space in the breakfast room available at all times. During this season, quiet at night, comfortable bed. Limited private parking a ways up the hill, so luggage is best dropped off first. Generous cancellation policy when booking directly in this season. We booked directly and there was a lack of communication between the person who did the booking and the host. Host was there only during breakfast/check out and afternoon check in hours.

Very nice place to stay. The rooms are small but much enough, tidy and clean, close to everything. Breakfast is delicous, highly reccomended.

The rooms are smallish but well equipped and very clean. Breakfast is basic but sufficient. We had a couple of issues accessing the hotel as the front desk isn't manned full time. Overall we had a comfortable stay and it is very good value for money.

Friendly/helpful service, a good room, and tasty/bountiful breakfast. Hotel Max was a pleasant place to stay in Piran. I will definitely book here again if I return to Piran. I wanted to rate Max as a five star hotel, but a few issues made it only four stars: it is up a hill, it is difficult to check in without a working phone (expensive or impossible for foreign travellers), and a lumber shop nearby makes sleeping in past 8 AM hard to do.

Great inn! Our room was quite small, but with good storage space, comfortable and impeccably clean. Generous breakfast (buns, yogurt, fruit, cheese and cold cuts). Perfect location and great value for the price.
