Great location! There's an Olive Young and McDonald's right downstairs. Within about 300 meters, there are many streets with plenty of restaurants. The hotel is clean and easy to find. The front desk staff was very friendly and even let us check in around 2 PM when we arrived.

Excellent Stay at Roynet Hotel Mapo — Great Location & Wonderful Upgrade!

We had a fantastic stay at Roynet Hotel Mapo during our family trip to Seoul. The location near Mapo/Gongdeok station is absolutely perfect — easy access to the subway made exploring the city effortless, from Gyeongbokgung Palace to Hongdae and Myeongdong.

We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a Premium Room, which was spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable for our family of four. The room was spotlessly clean with modern amenities and a lovely view.

The highlight was access to the Executive Lounge — a wonderful bonus that we truly appreciated. The lounge offered a relaxed atmosphere, great refreshments, and attentive service. It made our mornings and evenings so much more enjoyable, especially with two kids in tow!

The staff throughout were warm, professional and incredibly helpful — nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast spread was impressive with a good variety of Korean and Western options.

Mapo is a great neighbourhood — safe, vibrant and full of great dining options just steps from the hotel.

Would highly recommend Roynet Hotel Mapo for families visiting Seoul. We will definitely be back! 🇰🇷

My sister and I stayed here for three nights during our trip to Korea. The room was small, and there was no trash can in the bathroom, only tiny ones under the sink and in the room. On our third night, we were packing until 2:30 AM when we noticed a bug crawling on the sheets, sort of like a small centipede. It was too late, and we were worried about the language barrier, so we used alcohol spray and tissues to deal with it ourselves. We immediately reported it to Trip.com, who offered to move us to another room. However, it was so late that packing up again and moving would have left us with no time to sleep, so we told Trip.com we'd rather not switch rooms and asked them to follow up with the hotel the next day. We still had a restless night, constantly checking for more bugs.

The next morning, Trip.com called me, saying the hotel had emailed them, offering a late checkout until 2 PM and access to the executive lounge. Trip.com also offered me compensation in points. Since we hadn't actually been bitten, we thought we'd let it go. But just after 12 PM, the front desk called our room to rush us out. When we went down to the front desk, we found someone who spoke Chinese. I explained the bug incident and the late checkout situation, and he claimed Trip.com hadn't informed them. He asked where the bug was, and I told him we dealt with it ourselves because it was so late. He then unbelievably said, 'I don't know where this bug came from. We need our staff to see the bug to do anything. Now that the bug is dead, we can't determine anything…' Essentially, he completely denied any responsibility. I had to call Trip.com again, and they also hit a dead end with the hotel; they were speechless. It basically boiled down to 'the bug is dead, so there's no evidence.' The Trip.com customer service kept apologizing and gave me more points as compensation. I was utterly fed up with this hotel in Korea.

Looking back, it's quite frightening. We were lucky we went to bed late. What if we had gone to sleep earlier and the bug had crawled on us and bitten us? And then the hotel's attitude, even suggesting they didn't know where 'we' got the bug from? Did they seriously think I'd catch a bug and put it in my bed myself?

The transportation is incredibly convenient; there's a direct shuttle bus from the airport. Plus, there are quite a few shops right downstairs, which is really handy. The room also has outlets, so you don't even need an adapter – super convenient!

The front desk staff member was a bit rude. If you ask for early or late check-out, they'll always charge you extra. Other than that, everything else was generally pretty good. The coffee in the lobby was delicious.

The room was great! The lights gradually brightened after inserting the key card. Our window faced the main street, but it wasn't noisy at all at night. Unfortunately, the exhaust fan in the bathroom couldn't be turned off. It's a standard Japanese-style separated toilet and shower, which is nice. However, I was disappointed to find forgotten items from a previous guest in the wardrobe on arrival. The hotel staff were very apologetic. Despite being a Japanese hotel, the cleanliness wasn't outstanding. On the upside, the hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for catching the subway, bus, or a taxi.

I specifically asked Ctrip customer service to relay my requests to the hotel this time, and the hotel arranged everything to my complete satisfaction. All our needs were met, and they even upgraded us to a larger room for free after seeing that we had stayed there several times before. The floor we were on this stay was very quiet, which was much better than I expected. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time! I also want to thank Ctrip customer service for their diligent communication with the hotel and for helping with the special requests! I will continue to use the Ctrip platform; they genuinely go above and beyond to help their customers!

This time, there were bloodstains on the duvet... I've stayed here many times before, so I'm surprised to see such a decline. It feels like the overall standard has slipped; my previous experiences were much better. The hygiene is definitely a concern.

Super convenient! The staff were lovely, and there's a cafe right downstairs. If you're coming from Gongde Subway Exit 1, it's pretty close. If you have big luggage, take Exit 2; it has an elevator and is just a 5-minute walk away.

It was pretty good, felt like they catered specifically to Chinese guests, and it has a high rating on Ctrip. The hotel rooms have 220V outlets built-in, so no adapter is needed. I even had some oatmeal at the hotel. 😂 Its lower-priced room types offer great value when they're on sale, but the luxury rooms don't seem to drop in price.
