Mirador in Algeciras

The location may offer scenic views of the bay, but the experience at Hotel Mirador del Estrecho leaves much to be desired — especially when it comes to comfort and service:

- 🛎️ Weak reception: Barely any interaction at check-in, and our request for a quiet room was ignored — we were given one right next to the hotel’s compressors, which buzzed loudly all night.
- 🪟 Room issues: The shutter wouldn’t close properly, and it took some acrobatics to get it halfway down. The room had a strong, unpleasant smell upon entry.
- 🧼 Clean but not spotless: Housekeeping was acceptable, though not meticulous. The furniture was dated, and the TV was tiny — not ideal for relaxing indoors.
- 💤 Poor sleep quality: Between the noise and the lack of blackout, getting a good night’s rest was a challenge.
- 🚶‍♂️ Overall vibe: The hotel feels neglected, and while the views might be nice, the interior and service don’t match the setting.

If you're just passing through and need a place to crash, it might do the job. But for anything more than a quick overnight, it’s hard to recommend.

Called the hotel to check if they had an available room and the person in the reception got angry because he could not speek English. What a great impression.
