Aire Hotel & Ancient Baths in Almeria

Having visited AIRE in Sevilla we were very excited for our stay here, booking a junior suite with breakfast and spa access. However we should have paid more heed to the negative reviews on here as they are unfortunately true. Our main issue was that after breakfast my partner decided to lay by the pool. I popped downstairs to get my book and as my partner is unwell he fell asleep quickly. He was woken by a member of staff, told he should not be there, should not have eaten any Food and made to prove he was staying in the hotel. Essentially implying that he was homeless and taking advantage of the facilities. This was even more upsetting when I followed this up as it become clear the person who had made these comments was the manager. She was incredibly rude and curt to me, eventually apologising and acknowledging her error but still a very upsetting experience overall leaving a bitter taste in my mouth. The only offer of good will was that we could stay at the hotel for an extra hour after check out… no thanks! We wanted out of there. The other staff working in the hotel were also pretty rude. Especially a male worker who when we relaxing on the rooftop sat right next to us taking Teams calls and notifications pinging loudly - I came on holiday to get away from Microsoft Teams 😅 this particular staff member had also been pretty rude the entire stay - never smiling or saying hi and barging around. The hotel is definitely disconnected from its customers, seeing them as an inconvenience and not recognising we are why they have a job! Very disappointing.
The room was ok, some design flaws that make it not very functional of comfortable overall. Hotel needs a good deep clean and coffee machine was full of mold so watch out if you are using it!

The only redeeming feature was the spa, lovely as always and the staff on the front desk were wonderful, friendly and helpful. They also did not seem surprised when I raised this issue with the manager.

Overall - go for the spa but avoid the hotel like the plague.

Car parking garage is not same building where is hotel , driving to there garage is nightmare, you know what that mean, couldn’t find there garage almost 1hours.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.
Cleanliness is poor, the rooms are disappointing, and the mattresses need replacing. The staff at reception could be much friendlier, so rude. They seem to rely only on the spa and location, but everything else is lacking.

The hotel staff were completely unhelpful to the point we felt unwelcome. Aire corporate should be quite concerned that their brand is being damaged by the staff at this location. Currently it’s a 1 star staff masquerading at a 4 star hotel. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Driving and parking in this part of town is an absolute nightmare and once you get to the property, the staff acts as if you’re intruding on them.
