We had a lovely time at the Gar Amat Boutique Hotel. The service was exemplary, all the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. Our room was spacious and breakfast was tasty. Two pointers for the future - we had to run the taps for many minutes to receive hot water for the shower, while we also did t appreciate the open toaster / grill at breakfast, which was exceptionally hot and potentially dangerous. But we would recommend this hotel.
Fabulous place. Right in the heart of Granada. All the staff is very helpful and kind. The breakfast is served at a former water reservoir and it is delicious. Mari Carmen the cook is the most amazing lady and her pastries are wonderful.
We arrived quite late and were met by Magda who very kindly. It was wxce recommended a local restaurant and managed to book us a table before they closed it was excellent. We also booked a tour of Alhambra through the hotel which was also very good. The hotel was comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches
The staff is not particularly friendly, and I don’t think they are accommodating to families. They seem to prefer solo travelers or couples.
Another negative point is the air conditioning, which is limited to 22 degrees Celsius. The night I stayed, it was 36 degrees outside, so the room was excessively hot (and it was an attic room), making it impossible for us to sleep due to the heat.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the hotel for its historical value and location, but I would advise against staying there during peak heat periods.
