Reviews
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful especially Pedro
This hotel is an absolute disgrace to the hotel atelier/sunotel/petit palace group.
I stayed here over one week while waiting on visa papers. It was necessary to add several nights because of delays. I have the highest level "tripster vip royal" membership with the hotel group from frequent stays at other locations.
"Tripster vip royal" means absolutely NOTHING here. I arrived on friday and was given a dimly lit ground floor room with no desk or table, a leaky shower, bugs cobwebs in the corners and the minifridge. The front desk offered to move to a 10m squared downgraded room the size of a closet, way too small. I attempted to change rooms 3 consecutive days, but was refused.
The level of communication was very low, especially in english. The service ranged from poor communucation to open hostility from pedro and the angry little bald man from the night shift. The website stated they had at least 5 rooms available but the reception angirly refused to move my room with zero reason. I demanded to talk to their manager.
There was no supervisor/manager the ENTIRE WEEKEND. I sent the management emails that were ignored. The front desk told me to wait till monday (a top elite "royal" member of their hotel group!)
When I finally met the manager she noted that they are only a one star hotel and tried to convince me to stay in the dark basement. She suggested using the breakfast area if I needed a table! Obviously I refused. She reluctantly gave me a somewhat better room. Still very very small with the sink seperate from the bathroom and very little shelf place for toiletries. The shower only had one setting barely working and the bathroom frequently smelled like sewage.
The hotel workers made me feel very very unwelcome the rest of the stay, and on the last night I found a cockroach in the hallway. Stay away. Hotel atelier should unceremoniously drop them from the brand there is nothing "boutique" or "palatial" about this smelly uncivilized trash hotel.
The hotel looks different in reality from the photos. In reality, it is not that new and my room looked old and battered in someways. I didn't feel relaxed since the walls are thin and I could hear my neighbours clearly and the door also was not sealed enough, I could hear clearly people passing in the corridor. The best thing in my stay was meeting Pedro who was so friendly and so professional
