Hotel Doña María in Gijon

I chose the hotel based purely on location (closest one to where the friends I was visiting live) and was absolutely fine for what I needed. I ended up working on my laptop at the little desk in my room a lot more than expected and the WiFi didn't drop once. Staff were friendly, room & hotel clean, a little noisy but it's on the main road with a restaurant underneath (which opens much later than it says online) but the windows keep the worst of the noise out. Given 4/5 as they do the leave the key at reception when you leave the hotel thing - while I understand this in terms of loss prevention and knowing who is in the hotel in an emergency, there was often noone to hand it to forcing you to leave it on the desk and hope noone else picked it up, which doesn't make you feel like your work laptop is very secure in your room! However, overall, I would stay there again.

We have slept one night, good prices and we liked it. Cozy room, materials in optimal conditions, optimal and pleasant temperature. On each side of the bed, next to the light switch, there are USB charging connectors for mobile phones and electronic devices and a jack for helmets. Good lighting, you hardly hear any noise and good views depending on which side of the room you touch.
Due to the Tennis Tournament that was held on this day on our arrival, we could not opt ​​for a double bed but they offered us two single beds that we put together by removing the central nightstand to make them as a single bed. Also in the room there is an extra bed in case there are children or an extra occupancy is needed.
On the desk they leave some details (business card and two candies).
The Reception of the Hotel during the day you enter through its main door and at night you enter through the cider house and they indicate the door to enter. They have Christmas Lottery for sale.
The cafeteria service is excellent and good attention, healthy products.
We missed a Parking or at least a nearby parking since we couldn't find it in the surroundings because it was all busy and we had to leave the car after going around a lot during the night about 200 meters away. of the hotel. There are places nearby but they are for disabled people. They told us that they had a rented one but with only 3 places if I remember correctly but that they were busy and with this important tournament and the Hotel practically full; more still.
We recommend it and will return on our next getaway.

We have been this weekend with the child and the truth is that we are happy with the room, clean and comfortable beds. The bus stop is next door to be able to get closer to the center and thus forget about the car. Friendly staff. If we returned to Gijon, we would repeat without a doubt.

The room was very small but we were comfortable. Comfortable bed and bathroom, all very clean, with air conditioning and a small fridge. There are two buses that stop in front and leave you in the center in ten minutes. The restaurant is very good. I don't give it 5 stars because of the size of the room, and because the bathroom door handle was broken
