Occidental Las Palmas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

This hotel is very smart, first impressions are good, the room nice and the bed is huge. The jacuzzi is broken, they are still advertising it as a facility. No one contacted me to say this was the case and suggested a refund if this was not to my liking, which it wasn't. However, I did luck out as they let me use the facilities at Santa Catalina just over the road. Far superier.

I was told on Thursday there was a dance on the floor above me, I was on 7 th, dance on the sun deck 8th floor, until late on the Friday and Saturday.

I wouldn't stop anyone enjoying themselves, so I accept it, but why was I not told before arrival and offered a refund as soon as they knew. It was like a hurd of elephants stomping. Kids sitting on the stairs, people screaching loudly. Like having a full blown nightclub in your room. It seems it happens often, I was there for 6 nights, and it happened on 2 nights. The noise was deafening in my room and continued at that volume until midnight. I was told it would stop at 11 pm, so sat in the lobby until then. It continued past 23.00 and 23.30 as I had no idea when or if it would stop. i got very upset, especially knowing the next night would be even later. Goodness knows when it would end. Took my bedding to the lobby and tried to sleep there
