Villa Arali in Hikkaduwa

We booked the place for 3 nights but we decided to extend the place for a total of 6 nights. The host is the best, whenever we need anything she is on it without any delay. We have visited Sri Lanka many times but this is the best place ever visited. With high speed internet I had no issue working outside office.

A private swimming pool one of the reason we extended our stay. We wish to return this place soon.

Everything was perfect.

We stayed in this wonderful house as a family and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Very spacious living areas, stylishly furnished, with a sensational garden including a pool. The pool is the highlight.

Just a few minutes from the sea, yet an oasis of peace and quiet (passing trains didn't bother us at all).

Communication was excellent and very courteous.

An absolute paradise. We would love to come back.

Very nice hotel, the boss is also very nice, a first-line lake view room, you can fish directly on the balcony, there are a lot of big eels, groupers, and big crabs, you can cook directly in the hotel

Kumari's warm hospitality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. She went above and beyond, not only to ensure our comfort but also by providing us with fantastic recommendations that added a special touch to our trip. Her amazing attention to detail truly made our stay unforgettable.

The villa itself was outstanding, offering a pristine and well-equipped space that truly felt like a home away from home. The highlight for us was the amazing pool on the property, which provided a perfect oasis of relaxation.

What's more, its fantastic location was just a stone's throw away from the beach and a host of nearby eateries. If you're seeking a superb place to stay in Hikkaduwa, Villa Arali is an absolute gem.

Its a great pleasure for me to write this review.
Villa Arali in Hikkaduwa was our first ever destination in this beautiful country.
Having arrived a little ahead of our scheduled time our host and now my dear friend Kumari made sure we were comfortably settled as our Villa was being readied for us.
The Villa itself is very beautiful and Kumari has put her heart and soul in its creation. Its 2 and half bedrooms plus pool and garden were perfect for our group of four friends. There is no lack of amenities and there is a fully equipped kitchen. There are lots of Araliya or temple trees and other beautiful fruiting trees and flowering plants in the property. The whole atmosphere is Zen like calmness with a perfect escape from city life.
The villa is not very far off from places of interest. A short walk leads one to the main road and there are there are tuk-tuks available to take you around.
The beach is close by and one can engage in various adventure activities.

With respect to food, we had most of our meals at Kumari's beach side Hotel and Restaurant where we ate some of the most delicious seafood prepared in traditional Sri Lankan style. However its better to inform them a day or two in advance if one wants to have special or exclusive seafood so that they can procure it for you.

Now a bit about Kumari.......
She is hands down the best host that one can have in Hikkaduwa. She is very friendly, very professional and was very helpful during our entire stay. Despite being super busy, she was kind enough to help and guide us with sightseeing and shopping. Channa,her brother who manages their hotel property is very well travelled and has great information for tourists who want to explore nearby areas. Nipuna manages the villa and is just a phone call away incase anything needs to be done.

At the end.... I just want to say that its people who leave lasting impressions on you rather than the place itself and I am happy that I met Kumari and her team who made our stay at Villa Arali such a memorable one.
