Chami Villa Bentota in Bentota

We spent 8 nights with Chami at Chami Villa and could not fault it. Chami is so helpful & hospitable, he just could not do enough. The breakfasts are excellant & the rooms are very good & immaculate. The location is ideal for restaurants & the beach, we would be more than happy to stay again. Thank you Chami.

Direct access from platform of Bentota Railway Station , less than one minute walk. Beautiful house with well appointed rooms. Powerful showers and A/C. The owner and staff and extremely helpful and full of advice if requested. The breakfasts whether you have Sri Lankan or European are excellent. On the beach in less than 3 minutes, with very nice surrounding restaurants. We booked for one night and stayed for a further four nights its that good. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We have stayed in Chami Villa three times now. The riooms have been improved each time they are spacious and comfortable. The a/c is very efficient, and the modern showers have good pressure and hot water. The beach is a short and charming walk through Benton’s station to the beach.. Chami is a great gentleman, he enjoys a drink with you on the balcony in the evening .. He supplied several beers, and a couple of bottles of red wine free of charge, the same with a banquet of Sri Lankan evening meal. No charge either.. What a fabulous stay.. Thank you Chami, just like a family member.

Honestly absolutely loved the villa,room,staff and the lovely village it is set in, Chami is the most warm welcoming host, such a nice helpful man, his staff Rathu and Shanika were both friendly and kind, nothing was too much trouble for any of them, breakfast served to you outside your room on the terrace. Rathu took us to the Turtle hatchery and looked after us on the beach. The walk through a couple of lanes and across the railway track is delightful, there are many places to eat at all around, I would definitely recommend Chami Villa 😊

A small place of good spirit. Very friendly and hospitable host. Lovely breakfast what he made himself. Host took us by tuktuk where we wanted to go and recommended places to eat. I recommend this place for those who don't want to stay in tourist accommodation. Highly recommendation.

One of the best places to stay in if you are visiting to bentota. For sure you will thank me later 😉
well the place was so good as it was 5 minutes walk to the beach! Rooms were clean, neat and tidy felt like home itself 🙆🏻‍♀️
food was really worthy for the price we spent! Clean, nicely presented and so yummy what else we want 🙈
The owner and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They do organize lot of water activities there by themselves and they arrange everything you wish for! They are just a one buzz away 😇

We stayed for two days in the room without the sea view. Had a nice 4 poster bed, room was adequately cleaned and had air con.
I think the best part of staying at Chami Villa has to be the owner Mr Chami. He was super helpful, got us discount on diving (we we're originally quoted 95 USD per head for training and dive by one company, Mr Chami then went and found us somewhere for less than half the price and got us an extra 10% off on top) and let us use his washing machine. Also, the rest of the staff were very friendly and made every effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible plus went out the way to get a room ready early for us (they had a room ready for us by 11am).
Location is a very short walk from the beach. However, the point where the Chami sun beds and surf board rentals are located is the other end of the beach, which was not exactly an issue, more just confusing when first trying to find it. But the surf board rentals on the beach were super cheap (1000 Rupees) and you get extra time of you are staying at Chami Villa.
Over all a great stay and one that I'd recommend.

Taken here by tuk tuk driver was a bit unsure at first thought we would get stung we were wrong. It was Amazing place. Good hospitality and very friendly service. Food very good drinks very good prices excellent. The lobster and jumbo prawns were beautifully cooked and presented! What's more is that excellent coffee was served afterwards! Great evening

We really loved that place. Big and clean rooms (had the one on the 1st floor into direction of beach) with very good AC. WiFi could have been working better (especially during the day) - but, I'm on vacation so what ;-)

Breakfast was fair enough (Sri Lankian standard): Eggs, Toast, Sausages, Tomatoes, Fruit plate, Fruit juice, Coffee, Tea, Butter, Jam or even full Sri Lankian breakfast (Dhal, Curry, Rotti, Noodles …)

Also evening kitchen was good … I had the chicken Curry!

You will reach the beach by foot within 5 minutes max. On the left side you can get sunbeds for free (don't forget to ask the guys in villa for beach towels).

The best part of our stay at Chami Villa was Chami himself: super nice guy, friendly and always helpful. Also the other guys from staff. They tried to fulfill whatever wish we had (even cake & flowers at my girlfriends birthday). Ask him for snorkeling trips or any other and he will help to arrange.

Great hospitality,comfortable and appropriate facilities, as well as service and constant concern by the owner for your comfort.
