We went on vacation from Batticaloa to Kandy with my friends and stayed at this hotel. The hotel is built in a cabana style, and a swimming pool is also available. They provide food, and it was good.

The hotel is surrounded by nature, and there is a river near the property, which makes the place very calm and natural. The receptionist, a young lady, welcomed us with a warm smile and was friendly.

Overall, everything was good, but the hotel should take more care to improve cleanliness and maintenance.

I had a wonderful stay at Kandy Cabana! The location is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature, making it the perfect getaway from the busy city. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had a cozy charm with lovely views.

What truly made the experience special was the hospitality – the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The food was delicious and freshly prepared, with both local and international options to enjoy.

The environment here is lovely, and overall everything was really nice. We were able to use the pool, which was great. The food could be better, it wasn’t the best, but we got a great package. The place could be a bit cleaner, but the staff were good and helpful, and the experience was enjoyable. Overall, it’s a really nice place to visit.

Comfortable, clean and nice chalets on the riverbank, nice pool.
A bit too far from Kandy on a very busy road, takes at least 30 minutes to the center, at peak traffic an hour.
The service at the restaurant could be faster.

Not worth it
Tricky to get to, small uncomfortable bed, very dirty, bottled water seen to have been bottled manually (didn't touch it, it had bits inside). Description mentioned 18 pools, we only saw one. Very poorly sound proofed. Not cheap (especially food). Pretty scenery all around.

Bitter disappointment. No hot tub or spa as per description. No atmosphere. Rude, unhelpful staff apart from one kind man who appeared to do everything while other staff sat around. Freezing cold, dirty swimming pool. Bar/restaurant closed. No shops nearby. We ordered food from the 'chef' which took 2 hours to be served. When it did, it was overcooked and dry. Unclean accommodation (cobwebs, ants, discarded rubbish/bottles). Broken, unsafe furniture. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but only stayed 1. We spoke to the manager on the phone who was initially understanding and kind and implied that the food would be complimentary due to our dissatisfaction. However, upon checkout, we were charged for the food. When we spoke to the manager again, he was rude and incredibly disrespectful claiming we just wanted a cheap stay. Overall, the stay could have been wonderful but the atmosphere, staff and cleanliness let it down. This accommodation is hugely overpriced, dated and in need of a massive renovation. We have stayed in 13 different places during our 2 week stay in Sri Lanka and all of them have been friendly, welcoming and good value for money. This place falls well short of the true Sri Lankan welcome and is a stain on the kind, good nature or the Sri Lankan culture. We are not a complaining family but we feel the way we were treated and the amount we were charged warrants a warning for others.

We decided to stay outside Kandy, which is a very busy city. The location on the bank of the Mahaveli river is beautiful. The staff was very friendly. We appreciated the mode of accommodation: small bungalows that give you some privacy. The breakfast was nice: thanks for the sinalese pancakes!
