Amazing hotel, amazing rooms, amazing pool and grounds, amazing food and most of all beautiful and amazing staff. We could not fault this place. 10/10!

We spent a night here in January 2026 and wished we had stayed a little longer. We were coming from Sigirya and in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah and didn’t know what to expect as we moved towards the hill country. I could not recommend this hotel more highly. It’s so lovely! We’d spend time in more expensive properties in Negombo (Uga Riva) and Sigirya (Roo Mansala) before we got to Kandy and this was my favourite. The setting for the hotel was great, the food is really tasty, plentiful and good value. The rooms are a great size and so are the views from the room. But the absolute best thing about the hotel is the staff. They really can’t do enough for you and there is not a weak link. We were travelling as a couple with our two year old and we felt so lucky to be treated so well. If you are considering this hotel, you will not be disappointed. We also had a lot of laundry turned around in one evening, I had a full body massage and we had dinner and drinks for three of us and it came to about £60. Incredible value!

From our arrival to departure the hotel team were delightful . Personal caring service to ensure our stay was perfect . The scenery and views from the room were amazing . The view is spectacular. Ama at reception and Roshan at the restaurant are exceptional people - professional, kind and efficient. Our room had a lovely view, expansive balcony, luxurious linens and a hot powerful shower. The food was flavorful, fresh and plentiful. We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Elegant Hotel Kandy and were pleasantly surprised at check-in when we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite—an unexpected but truly delightful gesture that made our visit extra special. The suite was spacious, well-appointed, and offered stunning panoramic views from two balconies—facing both east and west—allowing us to enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets. While the hotel is located a bit far from Kandy city, the peaceful setting and breathtaking scenery more than made up for the distance. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax after busy days of travel. The complimentary breakfast was simple but enjoyable, and we had dinner at the hotel on one night, which was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The staff were exceptionally polite and friendly, always ready to assist with a smile—something we greatly appreciated throughout our stay. A couple of small suggestions for improvement: including a tissue box and slippers in the room would add to the comfort. Overall, Elegant Hotel Kandy is a quiet hillside gem with outstanding views and warm hospitality. Highly recommended for those seeking a tranquil stay away from the city’s hustle and bustle.

The hotel with the most beautiful views all around. With big spacious, modern rooms, with a balcony on both sides, it provides a very peaceful stay. Being only 14km from Kandy, and having transport provided, it gives the opportunity to explore the city. The presidential suite was lovely, and we could see Adam's Peak from our balcony. The gardens are beautiful and there's lush greenery as far as the eye can see around the hotel. The staff were amazing, very helpful, and friendly - special mention to Roshan, who was funny and a great dinner host.

Wonderful location, great facilities. One of the best massages I’ve ever had. The staff were so attentive and friendly and helped us plan the best ways to explore. The location is the perfect blend of close to Kandy but also quiet and a great place to relax by the pool.

We stayed two nights at Elegant Hotel, very welcome after a long drive, check in was seamless and pleasant, Amali on reception personally showed us our room and explained the surrounding area. The gardens are superb and beautifully maintained on a daily basis. The pool is sparkling clean with a beautiful mountain view. We stayed in a Deluxe room which had a beautiful and comfortable king bed, 3 seater sofa, bar fridge, tea/coffee, bathroom is clean and functional. Air con works well and there is a ceiling fan which we appreciated. There is a large sliding door out onto a lovely terrace with mountain views, the room is lovely and bright with elegant drapes. All staff are so pleasant and professional, always greeting you and getting on with their work. A very special thanks to Roshan who provided exceptional service at breakfast and dinner and is such an asset to the hotel, we can’t praise him high enough. Thank you Roshan. We also met the owner of the hotel who is a wonderful human being, he looks after his staff and genuinely cares about them and about the customer experience. He is genuine and you can feel it across all aspects of the hotel. They also organised a surprise birthday cake for my 60th which was very touching. Wi fi in the room is a bit patchy and didn’t work at all in the dining room. The location of the Hotel is half hour out of Kandy and a bit tricky but well worth it for the serenity and the experience and escape from chaotic Kandy and surrounds, we highly recommend to stay a few nights at Elegant Hotel.

The hotel was gorgeous! We were very kindly upgraded from the deluxe room to the presidential suite which was so exciting! The room was huge with an absolutely stunning view. The décor of the room is beautiful and the bed was so comfy. We had a private balcony where you could relax and admire the view. The bathroom was also very spacious and had everything you need. There is a lovely pool which is also located with a beautiful view and so many flowers. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were given a welcome drink and the restaurant was great. Really delicious food and great service. Strongly recommend having dinner here one night during your stay!

Can't say enough about this very elegant hotel with an exceptional staff and outstanding sunrise and sunset views. From the moment you arrive you are greeted by helpful staff and a beverage reception to make you feel welcome. Super clean rooms have large sliding doors and large balconies. The linens and decorations are modern and sharp! The interior of the rest of the hotel is as the hotel is called, "Elegant"! A spacious formal dining room with a large veranda to allow indoor and outdoor dining and all with views. Not to be missed!
