Hotel Restaurant Chesa in Flims

We didn’t stay only ate at the restaurant. We read the reviews as a friendly local place with high end local cuisine and found it to be disappointing all around. The service was plain weird: other diners especially those ordering wine had the maitre d dancing around them, and clearly local visitors had warm greetings and attentive service. We had to get up to call waitress for our order, they didn’t come back until they brought the bill, and didn’t bother to offer drinks during the meal or even offer us desert (they have a big chalkboard with deserts that other more deserving diners get shown at their table, as a bit of restaurant theatre). On leaving we had to dig for our coats in their cloak rack and definitely weren’t sent on our way by the front of house, something no I think is important (“thank you for coming, I hope you enjoyed your meal”). So it’s just weird. The food was average - at CHF75 for a veal cutlet it needs to be exceptional, and the Lavaret at 60 CHF wasn’t worth half of that, was a simple pan fry that was a 5/10 at best. So, frustrating experience and doesn’t chime with the other reviews.
