Hotel Engiadina in Scuol

Highly recommended!

Such a lovely hotel in a beautifully kept traditional house!

The rooms are immaculately clean, the breakfast is full of healthy and local delights, and best of all—a warm, welcoming host and a genuinely charming team.

It was a real pleasure to stay here. Highly recommended!

I stayed here with my family for 3 nights. The two rooms that we took were comfortable and clean. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were spotless. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were all helpful and charming. The building itself is beautiful, and in the most picturesque part of the old town. There's a bus stop just outside which can be used to access the main shopping street, the railway station and ski lifts. Without this, it's a 20 minute walk to the station, less to the main street. There is no evening restaurant, but dinner can be arranged at halfpension rates at a couple of local hotels. We had a great stay here. The whole family really enjoyed it. Although not a hotel tip, I'd definitely recommend Scuol as a winter destination - lots to do and a lovely, quiet ski area.

What an amazing experience! We could not have made a better choice. From the warm welcome by the host and her superlative attention to our needs throughout, to the quality of the room and breakfast, we cannot fault this hotel.

It's in a lovely, quiet location in the lower part of the old town of Scuol. We arrived by train and then on foot, but there is an easy bus trip from the station if preferred (we used that going back home). Travel in the region was included, and we made good use of it.

The room we had was spacious, with lovely wooden detailing throughout and a super comfy bed. Very quiet overnight, although we stayed a little before the summer season so maybe it would be different at peak. We rather liked the local toiletries, too.

Breakfast had a wonderful array of local cheeses, a tasty Bircher and all the other usual items (cereal, bread, juices etc). The focus was on fresh and local, which we appreciated. The breakfast room also had lovely wooden panelling, with the carving so typical of the region.

We like locations where you can just walk out of the hotel and keep going, and this is a great location for strolls or more serious hiking (we did both). The free travel in the region helps to extend the range of day trips - we did some trips out on foot, then went back by bus or train. With the integrated travel system in the area, it makes life easy.

The hotel doesn't have a restaurant open for the evening meal (they do open for light lunches and for afternoon dishes and cake), but there are several close by (5-10 mins walk), and the standard is high. Perhaps not so many choices for vegetarians or vegans, so asking for recommendations is important. Again, the hotel gave us some great choices, and made the bookings for us in a couple of instances when we asked.

Overall, one of our favourite holidays and we are already planning our return in 2024 for a longer stay.

Outstanding provately owned hotel with excellent service. Extremely attentive and friendly owner and staff, great rooms, very quiet, in the heart of the old town with super convenient public service to everywhere in the lovely town and region.

The attractive hotel is in the old part of the village but just a few minutes walk from the modern centre. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was done in the traditional style with lots of wood while the bathroom was very modern; everything worked perfectly. The hotel is small and simple and does not offer much in the way of facilities except for a daytime tearoom, however, the village and surroundings more than make up for this with no end of cultural and sporting possibilities. When I return to the area I will also return to the Engiadina.

We were all blown away by the beauty of the buildings in Scuol, and in particular the Hotel Engiadina. It is a beautiful building with warm traditional looking rooms. The staff are exceptional and helped us arrange dinner reservations and gave us guidance for wonderful hikes in the region. Very well located in the heart of Scuol, with access to the local bus and of course walking distance to the mineral spa.

Excellent food and service in an authentic environment and at a reasonable price. We hope we may return soon again.
