Grand Hotel Kronenhof

Despite our extensive experience staying at hotels of the same category, we were pleasantly surprised by the amazing atmosphere that exists at this hotel. The reception, the cleanliness of the rooms, the abundance of fresh flowers throughout the hotel, the professional service at the spa centre, the wonderful restaurants — everything is so well organised and meets such high standards and expectations that we want to come back again. My wife and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary and on that day we were surrounded by extra attention from the staff, including champagne in the room. Thank you very much to everyone. We will definitely come back.

For me the most beautiful hotel in the Engadin, everything is just perfect here, beautiful rooms, a fantastic lobby, a beautiful bar, excellent food, friendly staff, a Spanish concierge who couldn't be better, simply a pearl in the Engadin

Switzerland country scenery is a huge garden spotted with charming houses. But some places are more attractive than others and this hotel helps to make Pontresina a very attractive destination. Much more charming than St Moritz, and still only 10 minutes away, Pontresina is a beautiful base for hiking and relaxing. This hotel makes relaxing a special experience Build nearly 200 years ago and after several expansions and refurbishments today they offer a classical XIX century building with all modern conveniences, tastefully decorated and with a refined taste all around. The huge stately restaurante serves an excellent buffet breakfast and a fixed dinner menu with choices. A second gourmet restaurant adds on alternatives if the restaurant is not enough. WiFi works very well, the Spa is huge and fantastic, one of the best I visited, The garden facing the valley and mountains with its lunch wooden cabin restaurant, makes relaxing during the day the perfect plan. We had a very nice suite consisting of a generous bedroom, separate living room and large bathroom. Everything up to date and elegant. Clothes storage space is so large that you could bring your whole wardrobe and will not fill it up. As very frequent in Switzerland AC is not provided. I have some doubts about 5 star hotels going on with this policy outside major cities. Staff is very well trained and formally dressed up as in all palace hotels.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Little dated and could definitely do with a spruce up, BUT it's uber luxurious still somehow. The staff were amazing and very helpful. The lounge had stunning views and beautifully decorated - it sort of made up for the dates rooms - the rooms were not really a place to hang out in - perhaps if you you were in one of the suites - (we were in room 433) There's an amazing Thai restaurant walking distance which we went to a couple of times. Its walking distance (come out of the hotel and turn left) from a place that leads you to a little river and you can walk along it with little bridges - quite stunning

My stay with my daughter at the Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt embraced by the warmth and elegance of this exceptional 5-star hotel. Every staff member went above and beyond to make sure our stay was seamless, comfortable, and memorable. The attention to detail was second to none, and we truly felt that every request was met with genuine care and thoughtfulness. The breakfast buffet exceeded all expectations. We've experienced many wonderful hotel breakfasts, but this one stood out with its incredible variety and premium quality. The selection of exotic fruits—some of which we’d never seen before—was a delightful surprise, and the variety of fresh, vibrant produce and high-quality smoked fish was unmatched. Nothing about it was ordinary! The spa was equally remarkable. From its stunning design to the wide range of services, it offered a deeply relaxing and luxurious experience. Whether we were enjoying the pool or indulging in a treatment, every moment felt serene and thoughtfully crafted. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to a few individuals who made our stay particularly warm: Angel and Daniel from the concierge team, Sabrina at the front desk, and Lorenzo at the breakfast restaurant. Their kindness, professionalism, and dedication added a deeply personal touch to our visit. While there are many luxury hotels that offer great amenities and service, Grand Hotel Kronenhof stands apart because of the people who work there. Their passion, warmth, and attention to detail create an atmosphere that’s hard to describe but easy to feel. We are already looking forward to returning next winter and reliving the magic of this truly special place.

Our stay at the Kronenhof was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a level of service that truly sets this hotel apart. The panoramic pool, saunas, and relaxation areas were the perfect way to unwind after a day of skiing. But the BEST asset of the hotel is undoubtedly its people. From Angel, Andrea, and Daniel in the Concierge Team to Sebastian at the Front Desk, Valentina in Reservations, and the incredible Housekeeping, Spa, and Restaurant teams; every single person has been exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Overall, an unforgettable experience! If you're looking for a luxurious yet welcoming retreat in the Swiss Alps, Grand Hotel Kronenhof is the place to be. We can’t wait to return!

Best hotel for history, confort, class, and of course : beautifull mountains of Val Roseg. Special congratulation for the breakfast buffet ans the déco classical / modern of the grand salon and bar. Personnel pro, with personnal attention. Bravo !

The Grand Hotel Kronenhof, located in the Engadine valley in the Swiss Alps, is not just a Five Star Hotel, it’s officially a Five Star, Superior hotel. Why is that? For one thing, it’s the Swiss hospitality and the professionalism of the staff. The Reception staff and the Concierge make one very much at home as soon as a guest enters. In fact, Daniel Stauch, the Head Concierge/Guest Relations, is always very responsive to our questions and requests even before we arrive at the hotel. The superior service flows through reception, the concierge, the dining room, the bar, the spa and housekeeping. Every wish and need is promptly fulfilled with a pleasant smile. We have vacationed at the Kronenhof four times. Each time we arrive, we receive a royal welcome full of smiling faces. While a receptionist efficiently checks us in, our bags are whisked off to our room. The Kronenhof team is committed to making every guest’s stay a joyful, memorable event. My husband and I consider the Grand Hotel Kronenhof our home away from home. Among other awards, the World Luxury Spa Awards granted the Grand Hotel Kronenhof, the 2016 Global Spa of the Year award. The spa truly deserved that award. We enjoyed the water jets for every part of the body and the walk-through warm-to-cold stretch of pools, all of which are not only relaxing but also therapeutic for aching muscles and even burning nerves. The walk-through warm-to-cold stretch of pools cured the injured, burning nerves in my husband’s feet. It is a pleasure to close each day feasting in the Grand Dining Room, accompanied by the soothing sounds of a talented pianist, but be prepared to go on a virtual reality diet upon returning home! We could write a book about the Grand Hotel Kronenhof, but we will stop here. We’ll be back in 2025! The Houses

Staying at Hotel Kronenhof was the highlight of our 10 day Europe trip. The staff was amazing, always going above and beyond. The spa was super unique and luxurious. The half board dinner was impressive and the restaurant was so beautiful along with live piano. Overall it is the best hotel we have ever stayed at hands down. Luxury at its finest. Thank you!
