The dinner at the main restaurant was amazing and staffs are very polite and lovely. Our family had a really good time here. Will definitely come again for another ski holiday.
The rooms were not as advertised.
Despite our booking showing modern rooms, were placed in the older part of the hotel, which would have been a wonderful experience except the host uses the age of the rooms an excuse for uncleanliness, and poor facilities.
We encountered an issue where the staff and locals were drinking late past midnight, shouting, laughing and generally being rowdy. Again, not a problem, however we were situated literally meters from the restaurant with windows that did not help with the passage of sound. I could reach out and touch the bar from our room.
We tried to contact the property, and were ignored. We contacted our booking management service to raise the issue, and the manager lied to them saying that the issue had been resolved and that he had spoken to us, all the while we could see the him drinking and laughing in the restaurant outside our window with his friends, and no contact was made.
We were promised to be spoken to at breakfast, and to be spoiled, however this sadly disappointed. The manager did not show his face, and our dietary needs were not catered for.
Since leaving, the manager has continued to be belligerent to the issues and offered no recompense, ignoring messages once again.
If you choose to stay here, do so at your own risk. Swiss hospitality used to be renowned worldwide, which is what we experienced in our seven other stays on this trip, The Alpenclub in Engelberg lets Switzlerland down.
The hotel itself was beautifully designed, Alpen-style, with comfortable rooms that made us feel right at home. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.
The restaurant, in particular, left me speechless. The culinary creations that came out of their kitchen were nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared with the finest ingredients, and the flavors were simply divine.
From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality.
The level of service provided by the staff was truly exceptional.
The restaurant manager and he’s assistant are doing an excellent and great job.
We are definitely looking forward to come back!!!
