This is a great Jungle guest house. You feel like you are really staying in the jungle. The couple running this place are lovely and very friendly. Keep in mind though, it's in the middle of the jungle :)

A beautiful place, tranquil with just birdsong ever beeaking the silence. If your expecting great service for this price then your silly. One of the charms is the lovely hostess whose english is terrible ? anyhow she is as kind and accomadating as its possible to be. I loved every minute I was here

Dirty place, isolated feeling. Extremely uninterested.. Worst of all, aggresively barking dogs at the entance.

Nice place to stay! With live jungle sound .. only some steps to the river. Easy furniture .. all not in the best shape, but all works and for the first it looks clean. Nice place to relax. .. and jes, the dogs are barking only sometimes.. but comon .. they are protecting the areal. They are friendly! The stuff is speaking not really english.. but they are helpful with hands and google translator :) .. all together.. a nice price deal to cool down. I would come back.

A very nice place, and indeed in the jungle - Sam and his staff are very friendly and that alone made me feel very well here. The private swimming place by the river - very wild, very good. I was camping here, so I can't say anything about the accomodation though.

Sam's house is located at the party area of Kachanaburi full of drink places. The rooms were tidy and with AC. Very cheap and well located. Nice town to visit the bridge on the river Kwai, Erawan waterfalls and tiger cave.

Started off nice, room was huge and looked lovely. The girl that helped us to our room was nice and had a friendly smile.
Though quickly things went downhill. We found that the ac was broken, the hot water didn't work and the toilet didn't flush. Night brought even more trouble, the bed had loose springs that poked through and the linnen was greasy and felt like it hadn't been washed for a month. There were blankets but the were even more dirty so my girlfriend didn't close a single eye with the cold from the fan. Did I mention yet our towels were wet when we came in? Who knows if they were wet from washing or still hanging there from the previous guests.
We decided not to stay another night and called the owner for a taxi. He told us it would take 20 minutes. A little while later he called to say it would take an hour. We asked if it could be any earlier, we wanted to get breakfast in nam tok before getting on the train, but that wouldn't be possible and we were offered to have breakfast and coffee at the guest house. Obviously after our experience with the dirty linnen and broken things we didn't feel like eating there.
After an hour and 10 minutes we called again to ask where the taxi was. We were told to wait and he would check for us and get back to us. He didn't call back and he hadn't checked when we called him 15 minutes later. This happened again after 10 minutes. No info on what time the taxi would arrive and no feedback at all. The third time we called we were told that the taxi would arrive shortly. Which it did. Thank god.
There is no staff to comment on anything since the only one there is a young girl that doesn't speek a single word of english and there is no activaty at all (mentioned on the website).
We've stayed at places with no AC, no warm water and crappy toilets but they were advertised like so. We don't mind. But dirty linnen and incorrect advertising is just terrible. Sam's jungle guesthouse? No thank you.
