River Kwai Resotel in Sai Yok

Set in the Jungle alongside the banks of the River this hotel is a beautiful relaxing retreat away from the world.

Our accomodation (private hut) was beautiful, with everything we needed and a super comfy bed. Immaculately clean.

The grounds are large and there are many activities available such as cave walks or kayaking on the river.

There are two cool swimming pools both with bars next to them which serve beautiful cocktails. The larger blue pool is a little tired and there's tiles coming off in places.

The restaurant served nice food and breakfast and in the evening had nice lie guitar music and singing.

Overall I'd love to come here again and stay as it's a totally serene and calm place that feels close to nature and doesn't have a large commercial 'vibe'.

This place is off the charts, it is an exceptional value and is just plain gorgeous! It is so much fun I loved it. The rooms are quaint, and unlike any place I ever stayed before, kind of rustic =but with everything you need, especially AC! They were clean and comfrtable.

We stayed 2 nights in a Deluxe Room and had a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, but what really makes this place special is the setting. You’re completely surrounded by nature, and it truly feels like staying in a luxury jungle retreat - peaceful and perfect for disconnecting

Breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of options including Thai food, rice, cheese, and other choices. Everything was fresh, and enjoying breakfast with the natural surroundings made it even better.
Dinner, however, was a different story. The menu was quite limited and felt a bit pricey for the options available. Since the hotel is located deep in the jungle, there aren’t many alternative places nearby to eat, so it’s something to keep in mind when planning your stay

📍Don’t miss this nearby spot: Lawa Cave is only a 5-minute walk from the hotel, which makes it an easy and convenient activity. The cave itself is spacious, cool, and very quiet. When we visited, there were only the two of us inside, so it felt incredibly peaceful and almost private, a really special experience.

🚗 Getting there: We arrived by car around 7:00 pm, and the road was dark, quiet, and very remote, surrounded by forest. It’s safe, but arriving before dark might feel more comfortable for some travelers. You can also choose to arrive by boat, parking at Phutakien pier
🛒 Good to know: The nearest 7-Eleven is about 20–30 minutes away by car, so it’s best to prepare snacks or essentials in advance.
💛 Service: The service was excellent throughout our stay… you really feel welcomed and well taken care of here - The bellboy, receptionist, chef, and all the staff were kind, attentive, and always willing to help.
Overall, Resotel River Kwai is an ideal choice for travelers who love nature, quiet surroundings, and unique experiences, and don’t mind being a little far from convenience stores.

Beautiful resort surrounded by lush greenery and exotic plants—you can explore and discover different species just by walking around the resort. The atmosphere is very peaceful and well maintained. The facilities are complete, and the staff are extremely friendly, proactive, and flexible, which made our stay truly enjoyable.

What I loved most is how the resort respects and integrates Mon culture by hiring local people, supporting education, and offering Mon dance performances. It feels meaningful and authentic.

The Royal Thai Massage was outstanding—so gentle yet deeply relaxing that we went for massages two days in a row. We definitely plan to come back again if we have the time. Highly recommended.

Value for money! The surroundings are so peaceful and the rooms are absolutely beautiful.

The hotel is located abit far for the city but it’s quiet and nice. The room is nicely renovated and service is friendly. If you want to have a get away, this is a great place to choose and experience the staying in the middle of the jungle~😃

Room was super clean and big. Also love the green surrounding here. The way to the resort by car is quite far from the main road. Recommend arriving the resort before it gets dark because there is no traffic lights by the road at all.
