River Kwai Resotel - SHA Extra Plus

Excellent resort amazing view and good rooms.
The resort has a nice walking trail. A boat ride to reach the resort is scenic and really beautiful.

Only downside is that the restaurant is completely closed by 9.30 pm.

This was an interesting hotel. You need to get to it by speed boat so we could only bring an overnight bag. Each room is in a little bit split into two rooms. This hotel is in the jungle so there is wildlife around including outside of your but at night. If you are ok being that close to nature this is a nice place. If you're not then you may want to choose other accommodations.

Paradisiacal place that can be reached by canoe. The environment is beautiful and very quiet. The restaurant is excellent and a very good report quality-price.

The resort is currently under renovation and is becoming even more beautiful than it already is. Close to the river Kwai, but located on the side of a mountain, the hotel offers an amazing view of the scenery. The new rooms are luxurious and offer much comfort. The resort is quite large and there is much to see and to explore. In the area around the hotel as well, such as the Lawa cave with stalagmites and stalactites. In the evening you can enjoy a traditional Mon dance, a definite must see!

I loved staying at this hotel. It's secluded and completely surrounded by nature/jungle - requires travel by boat to access. Staff is very friendly and attentive, food is very good. The outdoor eating with river/mountain views was amazing. Good paths for walking/biking. Massages were also very good here. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, I'd definitely come back here.

But - If you don't want to be close to nature, don't come here. Some people in our group were not impressed. There are bugs all around, even in the rooms at times. Rooms (huts) are very small with limited amenities (no iron for example) - and some may view this as a negative. Food prices are reasonable by American standards (but very high compared to buying food elsewhere in Thailand).

Peaceful resort away from the road. The long-tail boat ride to and from the resort was a good experience. Food from the restaurant was great.

Great value for money. The hotel is surrounded by forest along the River Kwai travelling via boat to this hotel. nice and private

The hotel is located in a very beautiful location inside the jungle and next to the river kwai. A lot of activities are available nearby. I definitely recommend it.

wow, i never saw a more breathtaking place to visit and stay like this. it's hidden in the jungle and so near to the river kwai. the rooms were good and comfortable. food was good. there is a local village near the resort and you can visit the village or you can walk in the jungle.

what a lovely piece of paradise, wish I had been able to stay longer,such wonderful friendly people. will certainly try to come back. jim from western australia
