+You have wifi in reception. You can also charge your phone in reception
* be aware of that there is absolutely no blocking out noise form outside, or the rooms next to you, since it's open in between at the ceiling. You will wake up around 6am when everyone else is up and walking past. Worth noticing if you are a light sleeper.
- feeling of getting scammed on transport. More expensive than our overnight stay, by far (biggest reason for low rating)
- noice from boats passing, way more than once a hour, ruined the calm experience somewhat (but has to be expected perhaps)
We enjoyed or stay, until check out.
We where asked the day before check out when we wanted to take boat back after check out, "it goes every hour". Said when we wanted. Check out comes, and we had to sit wait 30 min after agreed time, waiting for someone else also going.
On the way to hotel we used Grab (app) to get from Bangkok. 2200 bath. It was not possible to book grab back tho, out of their service area. Asked reception if they could help us book a taxi back. She said she could only help us book hotels own car service.
Entered the pier to get back, here the transport hotel where to order was not ready. We had to wait another 30 minutes plus. Alot of siting and waiting wasting time.
We (2people) paid 4500 bath at the floating hotel for this transport back.
While we waited for this transport at the pair, we talked to a local taxi that was there, and he said he would have driven us back to Bangkok for 2700 bath, and at least we would have had a driver asap and not sit and wait.
It seems like the transport is their real money maker, and this just feels sad to ruin a otherwise good experience by overpriced transport
If you ever go, sort out with local taxi your return..
Will put with the prizes for their car service
After visiting the Bridge on the River Kwai, the museum and Hellfire Pass, Pat accompanied us to the Jungle Rafts, sharing clear and thoughtful explanations along the way. The floating accommodation, surrounded by lush green jungle and the river, is absolutely stunning.
Despite a long working day and taking on many different roles, Pat’s energy is contagious. Dancing is his favourite part of the day, and his visible enthusiasm turns the Mon evening dance into something genuine. Not a tourist performance, but a moment of shared joy.
Although only 23, Pat was incredibly warm and engaging. Being Mon himself, he offered us a rare and personal insight into the culture and history of his village during the village tour, which truly stayed with us. Excellent dinner, beautiful remote setting (no electricity or Wi-Fi) and an experience we will remember for a long time.
Thank you! Lolo & Sophie
What did cloud the experience for us, though, was the situation with the elephant in the nearby Mon village. They do say he is well cared for — but elephants are herd animals, and this one is kept completely alone in a small enclosure without any companions. He spends the whole day isolated, and for animal lovers this can be quite hard to see.
Because of the beautiful environment and overall experience, we’re giving three stars. But anyone who cares deeply about animals should know that this part of the resort’s “cultural experience” may feel unsettling and not entirely ethical.
The resort is amidst nature, really quiet and private, even as the rooms on the adjacent however, for in the room, it will have bed, 1 double bed and 1 small bed, suitable for family vacations and have ensuite convenient, no need to mingle with others and with the concept of Eco nature making this without electricity are relying on spot lamp in the middle of the night, but it's cold comfort, because on the waterfront
Out the front of the room, it will have a cushion. Seating on the waterfront, some will sleep, read, chill or will end to enjoy the atmosphere pleasant, but if the activity bit is jumping in the water with the kids it might be fun.
In addition, the resort's activity allows us to chill out together with excursions to mon village rafting along the river Kwai and go play in the water. or anyone Canoeing see it sneak adventure a little bit
We also found the staff unhelpful and bordering on rude. We arrived in a sudden downpour and the staff rushed out with umbrellas. To my surprise instead of covering the guests they used them themselves in order to keep dry and left the guests to struggle in the rain with their bags.
The food was poor thai food. I have had better meals for 200 baht in bangkok.
Sleeping with a kerosene lantern was the worst experience there. It shed no light and filled the room with noxious fumes.
All in all a most unsatisfactory stay do you selves a favour and stay at the River Kwai Floatel
You can enjoy swiming in front of your room.
But checkl this first, if you are biz man or Ur wife wants nice hotel.
There was No elec power, No hot water, No wifi
