Good accommodation, good view, good food. Overall, everything is good. Second time here, very impressed.

This hotel offers a delightful experience. The outdoor bathtub was a highlight, especially during sunset, creating a truly memorable moment. Additionally, the delicious moo kata added to the overall enjoyment of the stay. Highly recommended for those seeking a unique and enchanting retreat! ☺️

Beautiful Property, right on the river. Our room was upgraded because of an event at the temple right next door. Delicious breakfast was included. Very nice stay here

I booked the the room by "mistake" in terms of location as I was allured by the lovely pictures of the rooms with river river views. I was actually looking for an accommodation around the River Kwai bridge, to look around the surrounding. The resort is still some 42 km away to the west from where we wanted to be (1.5 hr extra on the train from the "Bridge on River Kwai"). However, the location was actually better, being so close to Tham Krasae Death Railway and the Prisoner of War cave we could use the resort's free bicycles. If these are not available, you can walk there, make sure you wear a hat or an umbrella as it can get very hot in the day time. Grab a stick to deter guard/wild dogs from surrounding houses/farms from chasing you. The Lum Sum train station is also very close, about 10 minutes walk, though it is not easy to find (see my photos of Lum Sum train station - Google Map). The service was great. Ms Quare (pronounced as in River "Kwai") helped us arranging for a motorbike to rent and we were dropped off at the train station when we left. She speaks excellent English. If you phone up early before your arrival they may be able to arrange for a pick up from the train station. Plenty of space for parking at the resort. The receptionist speaks some basic English and the resort's info are printed and shown to you at check in.
The scenery of the river is breath-taking. Everywhere you look is beautiful. The landscaping of plants and trees have been thought out carefully, however, some areas needed maintaining. This is still considered as Covid-19 time (Apr 2022), so most places are having the same situation due to shortage of staff. There is a tree house which has been built with maximising the views in mind. It is worth going up there. Take your drink or ice cream with you at sunset. They also serve coffees. The "swimming" enclosure is fun! It takes getting used to and after a while you can let the river flow to float you, just hang on tight! The resort also provides life vests for you to use, please ask. Also, rinse after swimming (the lining of our swimwear turned to light brown from white!).
Our room was upgraded to the larger one, with balcony facing the river where sunset is just right opposite. It was a good size with a sofa next to the bed and the headboard has a ledge where you could put your wallet, watch or face cream, whatever. There is a hot drink station, however, there was only instant coffee mix provided, no tea. The kettle did not have a lid (must have come off somehow), so it could be dangerous with the hot steam. There is no plug around it for the kettle so it had to be done on the dressing table where there is one. The bed was very hard to our liking, even for easy sleepers like us. Decor may need refreshing once hospitality business is back to normal. There is a TV with some digital input box but we could not operate it. The shower temperature was good, with shampoo, shower gel and cap provided. The floor puddled easily unless you take off/wedge the drain filter. We did this during showers and put it back on as we did not want any creepy crawlies coming in!
Breakfast was limited, a bowl of pork ball boiled rice and toast with fried egg, chicken sausages and jam. This was the same for the first 2 mornings. They did not serve the the boiled rice on the 3rd (final) morning but gave us a fried bull's eye with two eggs each!
All in all, we were happy with our stay in this warm and welcoming family business and we will be back. I would have given this 4.5 stars but I could not unfortunately.
