Zabava Guest House - Aonang

We had a private room for two with balcony and it was clean and comfy. One night. Very good. The location is good, on Ao Nang beach (if you like this area, which we did not because over touristic) and we thought it was quiet.
BUT it's a pity that the people working there are thieves and not honest. First, they ask for a 1000 bht or passeport caution (we never had that in Thailand), we didn't like it but we can understand.
The worst was when we left, they told us "for the two big bottles, 60 bht". They were asking to pay for the water in the room which we thought was free (as everywhere else) and it is definitely a scam because they never asked if we drank it, they assumed we did and asked us to pay before knowing. They never told us before that we had to pay for those, and it's not written anywhere as they said. So my boyfriend went to the 7 Eleven to buy the same bottles (for 30 bht) and give them to the reception.
It's really ridiculous but because of this we left with no will to come back.

The location is the only good thing. Would rather be a minute walk from the beach is a decent place. Over priced for what it is. Mouldy bed, smelly room, construction all around the room. rude staff, paid extra for a room with a window got a view of dirty stairs. Separate rooms away from the main hotel down the dirty street. Wouldn't recommended this to anyone!

The servise person tried really hard. The room with the balcony is not insulated so we changed rooms because it didn't get cold from the AC. He kept the money for the downgrade. Also on our last noght asked if he could change the lock. Instead of waiting.

This location is across the beach in an alley which is good but I would spend my time at a place with free breakfast or/and a pool for the same price. Rooms are very standard but the wifi is solid and beds comfortable.
