The atmosphere is amazing, perfect for relaxation. The view is great, it's close to the Tapi River, and it's convenient for a stopover while waiting for the ferry to Koh Tao.

A very reasonably priced hotel with clean and comfy room and small balcony. The location is just over the bridge the other side from the main town but it is quite peaceful and very easy to access the night markets. I would recommend renting a moped or even a bicycle would be fine. If you visit, walk down to the waterfront near the crossroads bar and you might see a big monitor lizard in the tree. Also I recommend a little trip to Koh Lamphu which is a little island you can go around on foot or bicycle. Next to the entrance there is a little food market which opens at night. A perfect way to experience a bit of local Thai life.

Booked a room through the website and paid the full amount. On the check-in day, the staff gave our room to another customer. This is very unacceptable.

Watch out when booking, because the website is a bit misleading. We choose this hotel because of 1 the free bikes you can borrow and 2 the airport transfer. Both are not true. The bikes are 3 childrens bikes without locks and with flat tires and there is no airport transfer at all. The staff barely speaks english. Besides that, the room has weird yellow spots on the walls and floors and has a weird bathroom layout without a shower curtain/cabin whatever so everything is wet. One last thing is not about the hotel itself but the city is really not interesting for tourists and there is literally nothing to do or nice places to eat... Not worth it for us. At least the wifi and airco works.

Horizon hotel doesn't look much from the outside but we were pleasantly surprised by the curtious service and excellent large room. Our room was on the fourth floor, facing the river, right on the front with two rooms. Very clean white tiled floor and reasonable tarrif. We stayed 2 nights after 2 nights at the CBD2 , next door. I'd definitely come back here.
