We had a wonderful stay at Thongtarin Hotel. The staff very friendly and helpful. Tony and the GM Preecha really stood out more than the rest as they spoke english very well and we had good conversations. Preecha was very accommodating as we had a few hours until our departure. He recommended we just stay at the restaurant and just relax. Looking forward to returning to see the changes he's implementing in the next few months. Thank you!

Note: I stayed at the Thong Tarin Hotel in 2022 in February. Our room had been recently renovated and it was a pleasant experience. ( I rated the hotel 5 stars)
In October 2025 ( btw 6 weeks before the Surin elephant festival weekend) we booked a room for three nights at Tong Tarin Hotel while visiting the festival. Disappointed, we were assigned to an older room with poor lighting. Later I discovered the tour agencies with bus loads of people occupy the newer renovated rooms the first couple nights during the Surin Elephant Festival. Needless to say, these tour groups are at the breakfast buffet as early as 6:00am with limited seating available. And the elevators were full during the morning hours. Not the best time to stay in a large conference hotel that caters to tour groups and not to individual bookings. 😒
The staff & cleaners were friendly as usual and helpful . The hotel concierge, Tony, speaks perfect English and pleasant to talk to.
Nice to see this hotel being maintained and still a popular venue.

Our stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The property was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable throughout. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast, which offered a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. The outdoor swimming pool was also a nice feature and added to our overall experience.

I would like to commend Mr. Tony, a member of the hotel staff, for his exceptional service. He was quick to assist with our luggage, spoke excellent English, and made communication easy and enjoyable.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would gladly return in the future.

Me and my wife stayed here twice now, and this last time was for my wife's surgery at Ruampaet hospital, which was close for me to walk to. Also, the location is great as there are many bars, restaurants and coffee shops within close walking distance, not to mention 7-eleven. Our room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and shower water had good pressure. The room cleaning service was excellent. The in hotel restaurant serving the buffet breakfast has great choices, with a chef to prepare omelets. The Wifi service was reliable which I needed to login for my US related work. Overall, because of the room quality, wifi, staff service and location, I will be staying here every time me and my Thai family come to Surin City.

Classic old hotel with high floor & nice city view. Beds in twins room are small, and pretty hard bed. Hot water doesn’t work in my room. Standard stay, clean but can be cleaner, good for a nice stay. Breakfast is okay.
