The room was comfortable, with an ensuite toilet and 2 single beds with a sofa, and the beds were quite comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was delicious.

Upon check-in, we were assigned a room on the third floor, the top floor. We took our luggage upstairs to rest. Later, while my daughter was showering, the building's fire alarm suddenly went off. All the guests in the building, including us, had to go downstairs to wait for the cause!

Hotel staff informed us that the fire alarm went off because we were showering in the shower stall; there was a little water in the shower. They then told us we might need to leave because our exposed shower area triggered the building's fire alarm! The alarm would sound every half hour afterward, so we had to stop showering and wait until the next morning to use the bathroom in another room! Hotel management also mentioned it might be a problem with the building's age, and they would send someone to check it the next day, but an hour had passed and the alarm hadn't sounded at all!

A slight leak during showering caused water seepage in the second-floor room. When I went downstairs, I saw the alarm was dripping, which triggered the entire building's alarm system. However, I believe we were only showering, and there was another person showering while two others were still showering. We were only showering, not taking a bath, and there wasn't a large water leak that flooded the entire bathroom! The claim that a leak caused the second-floor alarm is a gross exaggeration.

I believe the main cause was drainage issues in the shower stall. Due to old pipes, water was leaking, causing water to leak to the second-floor room below. This leak triggered the alarm in the guest's room, causing panic and fear among all the guests in the building.

I believe the building's plumbing has been in disrepair for years. When we showered on the third floor, the hot water drainage system leaked, triggering the alarm. If there are any subsequent problems with the hotel, we are alone in the UK, and we cannot accept any explanation that a slight leak in the shower stall affected the entire incident!

Because of last night's incident, my whole family couldn't sleep at night, we were terrified, and the hotel hasn't done anything about it yet! I want a definite answer. This morning we didn't dare touch anything in the bathroom, it has caused us a lot of inconvenience, we can't take a shower, brush our teeth, wash up, and we're even worried about going to the toilet!

Had very good nights there.

Very nice place to stay with a beautiful view. The staff are also very nice.

The room offered a view of the countryside, and an elderly lady worked at the front desk. There was a small yard with parking available, which was quite convenient for those driving. The room was decent, except that the lack of an elevator made carrying luggage a bit inconvenient, and the shower machine was a little noisy. Otherwise, it was alright.

Less than 24 hours after checking in, I only saw an elderly lady staff member. I don't know if she was the boss or an employee. We arrived at around 5pm and booked a room for two. They asked us to pay an additional 50 pounds without any hesitation because the room rate was charged per person. We explained that we were only sleeping there for one night and would be leaving early the next morning, but that was of no avail and we had to pay the extra money. After paying the money, I carried four suitcases and climbed up to the small but narrow third floor where there was no elevator.
Afterwards, the staff member said she had gone off work and she did not meet the staff member again until she left the hotel the next afternoon. Fortunately, our family fell asleep as soon as we got to the room, and went out for breakfast and sightseeing early the next morning, so we did not disturb the store owner.
It takes 30 minutes to walk to Oxford town, which is acceptable and pleasant.

I will not book this hotel again. Not managed to international standards, poor sound insulation. The wash basin has no tabletop, which is inconvenient to use. The most striking thing is the yellow stain on the towel hanging on the towel blanket. My daughter and I booked it because we were close to the exam venue, so we didn't take a shower that night, so we were not very concerned about hygiene. I was worried and didn't sleep well.

I’m aware of high occupancy rate but check out at 10:30 is not reasonable

Great food and very professional service. Bit cramped tables though. That said, they always work their magic making all the dishes and plates find space.

Nice friendly pub with plenty of seating, on the main road of headington, parking is available but is pay and display, you will however get this back at the bar, drinks are reasonably priced and the bar staff are always friendly, they also have a beer garden for the summer
10.12.2017 Richard
Great place for after work drinks. Good beer on tap
28.11.2017 Sara
Been to Britannia, was asked for ID to be served drinks, presented the EU ID as Portuguese citizen and the bartender said it's not valid and it's a company policy. Found this very unpleasant and unnecessary as this is a valid and legal document that presents my ID. Is this a brexit thing? Also I clearly do not look like less than 18yrs old and found this racist towards EU citizens.

Good service. Good food and nice staff.

Very poor food with miniscule portions. Scampi and chips came with 4 pieces scampi and 10 chips my steak was better but again only a few chips and no English mustard.
Only saving grace was that the staff were very good.
16.10.2017 Orun
Food is average at best however, as someone who works in the NHS, I get 20% off which is nice. If it wasn't for the discount I'd give this place 2 stars - the Peroni was flat as well. Shame about all that because the place itself is actually really nice & easily accessible...
04.09.2017 Michael
Really good in here staff are really friendly food and beer is good
01.07.2017 Joao
good pro it's the outside area where you can take your beer and enjoy some fresh air. NHS discount with 20% if order 2 drinks it's a really good deal
14.05.2017 Martin
A family friendly pub, a great place to bring the little one's to. The staff are particularly friendly. The food is both good and good value. Large selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.
