Excellent communication & check in.
Lovely warm spacious room, ensuite shower room/toilet with shower gel.
Very comfortable bed and space to sit in front of TV.
Smart TV, kettle & tea/coffee/hot chocolate provided (+milk& sugar).
Lovely quiet street, very peaceful amongst the old buildings and looking across to one of the college gardens.
Lots of interesting places to walk to within 5 minutes, colleges, museums and also many lovely restaurants and cafes nearby.
I didn't have time to walk to the river but that looks lovely & there are boat trips.

The room was clean, the woman who checked us in was nice, and the location can't be beat. Would stay again.

Great location, and really helpful and flexible staff. They arranged an early check in for us as we were going to a wedding, at no extra cost.

The room itself was clean and cosy, quite small but good for a solo traveller. The bed was comfortable, and the hushed noise of the street outside was sooting.
There was no one on reception for the duration of my stay. I was stuck outside in the rain for 5 minutes trying to get in. I rang the number on the window and was given the key-code for the lock box to let myself in, and check in myself. Other guests had this problem.
No toilet or bathroom in the room was a real annoyance as the toilet was far away from where I was. No clue where the bathroom was, as there were no signs or receptionist to guide you.

Location wise it’s very good, just few minutes walk from the tourist attractions. The room is okay, not thoroughly cleaned and there’s a leak on the wall coming from upstairs.
25.10.2025 Isabella
Room not cleaned well - there were used contact lenses dried up on the bedside table. Shared bathroom shared across two floors, more of a hostel feel.

Quiet, cozy, comfortable, clean room. Very Oxford vibe, old construction. Incredible location in heart of city center but on a quiet street so you really feel tucked away inside. Service was great, and responsive. There is not a permanent attendant like at most hotels, it was quite old tech with a lockbox and just the key sitting in a bowl in the reception area. I would stay again for sure.

Unexpected find, very nice (and wonderfully quirky) room with great facilities.
18.09.2025 Gregory
It’s a 400 yr old building so can’t live up to modern day conveniences/expectations. However, great character overall and well located. Would benefit from some detailed cleaning and overall updating without losing its historical charm.

We stayed in the Jade Room, and it was so spacious! My daughter and I had more than enough room to feel comfortable and have our own space. The room included a closet, a makeup table, and tea and coffee, which I especially appreciated in the morning.

The location is fantastic—within easy walking distance to many of the main areas we all come to visit in Oxford, with plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby, and a Tesco not too far away. We were about a 15 minute walk to the train station, though it honestly felt even shorter.

We arrived a few hours earlier than expected, and with just a quick call, the owner allowed us early access to the room so we could store our luggage and start exploring the area right away.

Bought Italian Pepperoni Stack but it came without any pepperoni. I showed the burger to a lady behind the counter and said that it had no pepperoni, she pointed at the beef patty (touching my burger!!!) and said "This is pepperoni!"
To top this, the salad leaves on my burger weren't fresh. Won't be eating here again.

Always busy, way too crowded, hardly much seats and space. The food is fine and the service is very quick though. The prices are standard as you would expect, i always go in there for the Fillet-o-Fish mmm..

The service was disgusting girl served a friend and 2 others b4 getting our order ready. The person clearing tables used same cloth as she wiped the bin with. I prefer fresh lettuce in my butger

Ordered a quarter pounder with cheese meal. Burger tasted like it had been hanging around for an hour - dry and tasteless. In other words tired. Portion of medium fries was somewhat short of the full portion and likewise tasted stale and soggy. Diet Coke tasted flat. All in all not very good.

Had had a long day and it was a horrible wet evening so couldn’t be bothered to complain.

Service at the till was functional in that I didn’t have to wait long. But really the food was in my opinion substandard on this occasion.

Not a nice place to eat in either - - uncomfortable furniture designed to encourage you to eat and go! if it hadn’t been for the rain I would have probably sat on a street bench provided by Oxford City Council

Big disappointment with the manager Ravi.. ignored us when we walked in did not take our order at all.. Told us we had to wait 30mins before we can make an order as another group was coming in. we were there 20mins before the other lot waiting to be served but he did not want to take our order before theirs.. We were there for about 40-50mins no one come to take our order infact he had also told the waiter to not serve us before the other group we had to walk out.. He is very rude! He walked off whilst I was talking to him he was saying your wasting my time and if you want to dine stay if not go! and when we asked to talk to him again he completely ignored us! We called him 3times he did not bother coming.. The waiter had also said to us im sorry its not in my hands he has told me not to serve you!Very baad customer service from the manager himself! He needs to go!

No my "cup of tea". Maybe ok as fast food, but I would rather skip a meal if this was the only option
19.10.2017 Ultra
Great fun and food for all the family. Great pizza and salad bar. Quiet.
17.09.2017 Matic
Pizza was very disappointing. There's an unlimited salad refill option, but you wish there wasn't. Pizza for two was very expensive and was smaller than normal pizza you'd get at every other pizza place. Don't go.

Lovely meal. Great steak in a nice trendy restaurant. Good selection of food and wine

Despite a somehow poor past experience, we thought we would take our Spanish guests, as they wanted to try Jamie´s food.
I must say that Jamie´s restaurant managed to disappoint us yet once again...
I had the risotto, which was tasteless and undercooked...
Jamie needs to visit his restaurants and try "his" food!

Lovely food. Great service. Most seats are hard metal. We managed to get one of the few comfy ones.
26.10.2017 Dan
Loved how the staff made a fuss of our little man and made him feel special, but waited a while after our mains for plates to be cleared while the little one was getting restless.

Food wise we had a burger and a bowl of pasta. Both lovely and the nipper had spaghetti and meatballs (also really tasty). Kids eat free but you pay for it in the adult meal prices. For the 2 of us with just mains and a fruit juice plus the little ones free meal came to a total of £33 - a little more than we'd normally like to spend for lunch.

Wouldn't rush back there but it was a nice enough family experience.

Delicious starters and the spaghetti was perfectly seasoned. The pizza was just delicious! Loved the atmosphere and very helpful waitress and good service. Also perfect if you have kids. A little expensive, but worth the food.
