We have an amazing stay. The room was big with a lot of character . The sink and shower did not drain properly, and the shower cubicle was small. The spa had saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzi. Service was excellent. We had a lovely breakfast and dinner. There are lovely bars and lounges.

The room key card was very unique. The Alice breakfast was a delightful surprise, and the lobby on the first floor had a nice ambiance. There's a museum right across from the hotel, and a bus stop next to it with service to Bicester Village, and apparently even to Blenheim Palace. The only minor drawback is that it's a bit far from the train station.

The hotel is decent, great location at the town center, with a lot of dining options nearby, the breakfast is great and the bathing amenities is great too.

Great location with a delicious breakfast/brunch place just next to it, helpful receptionist. Nice sized suites. Lifts up and down to the different floors are a bit slow though.

Excellent central location that I booked for a couple of nights for a reunion in Oxford. I was intending to spend much time in my room or the hotel, so it offered all that I needed.

Very friendly staff, they were welcoming. It’s in a really good location, right in the centre of town.

We had a very nice stay at the hotel for a week. The staff was very friendly and gave us tips. The location is perfect. We did think some things were more 4 star that a 5 star hotel. A door that doesn’t always properly close in the bathroom and a little larger bed for two persons would be better. But overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Brilliant stay, room upgraded and breakfast was included which I didn’t realise. Helpful staff, lovely clean hotel. Bus stop 5 minutes walk away, buses are regular to the city centre (approx 15 minutes away).

Room was lovely. Very comfortable and clean had lovely 3 course meal but breakfast wasn’t the best mainly ordered poached eggs came more like boiled eggs rock hard .

They upgraded me from standard room to premium room, so it was very spacious , very clean, service very friendly.

The hotel is a bit far from the city center, and the road leading there was closed for construction. We had to take a detour, so it's essential to use a navigation app with real-time traffic updates, otherwise, you'll have a tough time. The front desk staff, however, was very welcoming and attentive.

Honestly, this hotel offers incredible value for money. If you're looking for a hotel near Oxford train station, this is the one to choose. It's my favorite out of the four hotels I stayed at in the UK.

Easy check in , room was clean and comfortable, breakfast had good choice, hotel is situated close to railway station

Facilities: Basic amenities are all there, but you'll need to ask the front desk for a toothbrush. Environment: Located by a small river, the surroundings are elegant and it's very close to the city center. Hygiene: Very clean. Service: The front desk staff can answer most questions and they also offer a taxi booking service.

Beautiful hotel with a great location for visiting Oxford. Breakfast service was very good and the pool enjoyable and not too busy. £25 for parking is disappointing.

Excellent location, a lovely walk into the town centre which means you can enjoy the beautiful city without the hassle of trying to park and avoid the new congestion charge. Beds are really comfy and rooms are really quiet. We used to always stay at the Randolph but Voco is just miles better value for money and quieter.

The view from the room was beautiful. It felt like time was moving slowly, and I felt really refreshed. I’d love to stay here again.

Very impressed with the hotel and room. Very clean and one of the most comfortable night’s sleep I’ve had in a hotel in a while. Staff very friendly.The breakfast was very good so much choices and super tasty. The only thing I guess is the parking fee a bit on the higher side. I have stayed in this hotel more than five times. They are always up to their standard, and the staff are always helpful and kind.

The hotel is very unique, it was converted from a prison. I didn't know why some of the room doors had names + years on them before, I only found out after asking. The suite I booked is underground, the experience is very novel, and there is also a separate entertainment room. I like this separate entertainment room so much, it's great! Oxford is really full of history, every place has a history.

The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic!!! The staff were so polite and helpful, the room was wonderful and the meal in the restaurant was amazing. The prison hotel has a feeling of class and luxury and then a beautiful contradiction that it used to be the home of naughty prisoners - we have nothing negative to say just going home with fond memories and some wonderful pictures!!!

Hotel locations is very good and free parking for hotel guest.

The room was clean and tidy, and the big bed was comfortable. However, the sound insulation on the upper floors was very poor, and it felt like the bottom of the building was about to fall.

The location is excellent, right on High Street, opposite St. Mary's Cathedral; the room is newly renovated, the layout is pleasing to the eye, and the bedding is comfortable; the service is warm and thoughtful, and there is a small backyard with free parking. Recommended!

We had a lovely stay. The staff were incredible helpful with food abd transport recommendations. The decor is fun and the room was clean and comfortable. Cool hotel even if loud at times This is a gorgeous hotel with plenty of character and a decent location in the North of Oxford, near shops and eateries. As it is a quirky old building, you do hear the footsteps shuffling of your upstairs neighbours, but I would return if ever in town again.

We stayed at the Galaxie Hotel in Oxford as a family and had a very good experience. When a crib for our baby wasn’t available, the staff immediately upgraded us to a larger room to make our stay more comfortable. This thoughtful gesture really made a difference for us. As part of our wedding celebration we decided to stay at this hotel and we couldn’t have been happier. We ended up with a wonderful bedroom with an amazing bathroom and a private garden. Good location, historic building but a bit pricy for the facility

This was a great hotel for a stay in central Oxford. I prefer to walk when possible and this was perfect for seeing everything I wanted. My husband and I had a wonderful stay. Loved the river view and the breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. The only thing that could improve was the mattress which felt old and sunken.

We stayed for 2 nights in a private room with 4 beds. The location is perfect, very close to the city center (5 min walk). The staff are friendly and helpful and the price is ok. However, our room smelled bad from the bathroom and the cleaning could have been a bit better. But over all, well worth it and we could come back.

We felt this hostel to be the best for our stay. Rooms were cleaned everyday, a hearty breakfast for 6 pounds, excellent pastries and coffee. This was a great hotel. The room and bed were huge. Everything was spotless. We travelled by public transport and the hotel was about a 20 minute walk from the station. Although the hotel is not right in the centre, it is only a few minutes from the Head of the River pub and 10 minutes from the Westgate centre. The area is beautiful and very quiet

The room offered a view of the countryside, and an elderly lady worked at the front desk. There was a small yard with parking available, which was quite convenient for those driving. The room was decent, except that the lack of an elevator made carrying luggage a bit inconvenient, and the shower machine was a little noisy. Otherwise, it was alright.

Less than 24 hours after checking in, I only saw an elderly lady staff member. I don't know if she was the boss or an employee. We arrived at around 5pm and booked a room for two. They asked us to pay an additional 50 pounds without any hesitation because the room rate was charged per person. We stayed at this hotel for two nights from 31 March. On first impression on arrival it looked really nice from the outside. We were given room 2 which was on the first floor. On entering the room we were really surprised how tiny the room was, it was very compact. It was nicely decorated and the bathroom was clean but again very small. Great breakfast. Not cheap. But than again. Its Oxford.. slept great

Beautiful room, fabulous breakfast and a 10 minute bus ride into Oxford. Will definitely stay there again.

We had a family room for 3 adults great size. Very clean, tea & coffee on tap and we were visited by the mince pie & chocolate fairy. (It's the littke things that matter) the beds were very comfy. The location is perfect for exploring Oxford 10 minute walk to town centre, 5 minutes to the river. Would highly recommend the great value friendly B&B.

Great room, parking was a bit fraught however and the room was not ready when we arrived at midday. Much better than other nearby hotels however.
