Oxford, Beaumont St (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Wonderful hotel. Recently renovated but rich in history. The bar downstairs is associated with the fictional Inspector Morse and is full of characters. The service was amazing. We stayed for 2 nights and, having discovered that we were going to visit the university, returned to our room to find a box of graduation truffles, a fruit basket and water in the house. The spa treatments were some of the...
Magnificent hotel. Great value. Great staff
We had a great time and the staff couldn't do enough for you 😊😊
Worth every penny. Lovely welcome from the parking attendants who had parked the car for me before I knew it. Only £32 for the night. Make sure you get all your stuff ready as we had to make 2 more visits to the car for coats and other forgotten goodies. There is a public car park just down from the hotel on Gloucester Street which costs £25 for 24 hours. We arrived early but our room was ready over...
Stopped in for dinner, while the food was very nice, found the service did not live up to the 5 star rating of the hotel. Wine was served with spillage down the stem and similarly the coffee was served in it's own slops. Both glass of wine and coffee were overly priced. For 6pm on a Saturday, there were very few clients, which made for a very somber atmosphere. The only real plus was sitting next...
Lovely place and so friendly! Great food, amazing service. Staff were very accommodating with our two-year old too. Would go there more often if I could afford to.

Ground floor, double doors opened in the room, which is always a bonus as too many hotels you often can't even open the window. Also like the fact there is a fridge with offerings in it, not that I drank any of the alcohol or ate the treats but nice to see instead of an empty fridge. Fresh milk was in the fridge for in room hot drinks and complimentary still and sparkling water. Staff were...
Very average food, seafood starter was bland with little or no seasoning, the pastry on the strawberry tart was far too thick and could not be cut so was left, no one at any time approached us to ask if the meal was satisfactory, waiter was good but very busy and did his best. Would not visit again although the setting is lovely.
Lovely stop for afternoon tea. Would've preferred a slightly more cosy setting compared to the small table for 2 given to us. Service was very polite and the food was great. An extra perk to be able to get a free refill on the sandwich tier.
Wonderful food and absolutely exceptional service that was both very attentive and very generous. My family had an absolutely wonderful birthday dinner under special circumstances. We cannot praise all the staff at the Old Parsonage enough. Thank you very much.
Beautiful food and absolutely exceptional service, which was both deeply thoughtful and very generous. My family had a simply wonderful birthday lunch in very special circumstances. We cannot praise all the staff at the Old Parsonage enough. Thank you so much.
Wonderful. Thank you very much for another wonderful dinner. I'll be back soon. Dinner here is excellent. Their Sunday lunch is a hit with visiting relatives. Would recommend their early bird menu if offered. Very professional atmosphere and probably the best place in town.

It's not a great idea to drive in Oxford because there aren't many places where you can park and the city is designed to be pedestrian/cyclist friendly. For that reason staying in a hotel with very short walking distance to everything was very convenient. They were able to book the parking space in the hotel in advance which put my mind at ease. (They even allowed parking earlier than check...
Cleanest restaurant and toilets I've ever been in, absolutely spotless. Good coffee but no pastries unfortunately
Historic, atmospheric and absolutey stunning !!
Great, except the out door space feels like a greenhouse when the sun's out because they have put up plastic sheeting, which in its self is a covid health hazard!
Had a beautiful stay here between the lockdowns, efficient and friendly staff, lovely rooms that cater to all your needs amenities wise, and large comfy beds that will leave you struggling to get up to the first rate restaurant downstairs. They open up again on May 17th, I highly recommend you treat yourself to this excellent hotel in one of my favourite cities
Stayed at the old bank hotel as part of our mini moon. All the recommendations pointed to this hotel being one of the top 3 in the area. We had a lovely stay and the room was ample. We had everything we needed including a large flatscreen Samsung tv ( not the cheap ones) meaning quality and attention to detail is important to them.
One morning we met Andrea, (angel) she observed and gathered clues...

The staff at this hotel is probably some of the nicest I have ever met. They helped me out in so many was. The room was nice and clean, but it's always a funny feeling when you are in a room with now windows. The location is one of the best in Oxford with just minutes walk to everything.
The room is clean and well cleaned.
It is close to the downtown area and lively outside, but it is close to the bus terminal and convenient.
It's the best place to stay in Oxford!
The rates are reasonable and the staff are polite and impressive.
Stayed in a single room on the ground floor. The room was supposed to be soundproof, however, it was not. I could hear someone using the hairdryer in another room on the same floor which woke me up in the morning. The staff were friendly and polite and the check in and check out was smooth. The stay in a cramped room like that is probably suitable for a one night stay but not great for a weekend or...

Oxford, The Chequers Burcot (11 km from centre) 🧭 Map
A warm welcome on check-in with a glass of fizz by a log fire set the standard for a great stay at The Chequers. Our room was one of (8?) newly- built in a courtyard, very clean, warm and comfortable, with ample parking. The restaurant is excellent, food and service to a very high standard, both for dinner and breakfast. Thoroughly recommended.
Absolutely lovely food, generous portions and very attentive staff. We would meet here more often as it's central for a lot of our friends but the electric vehicle charging is very expensive (£7.50 flat rate or £15 overnight) so we go to Abingdon where charging is free. But for dining out with just the family it's perfect.
Where do I start, I have eaten in the pub a few times and have always found the food and service outstanding. This time I was at a party in the pub and was lucky enough to stay in one of their beautiful rooms. It did not disappoint, they have genuinely thought of everything you need in a hotel room.
The bath products were high quality, kettle, fridge, coffee machine, iron, good hairdryer. Under floor...
Lovely restaurant and helpful staff. The lamb rump was so tender, I did not need to use the steak knife they gave me. Also very good with allergies which was appreciated.
Stayed overnight too, rooms are well furnished, spacious and comfy. Parking very easy too and electric charging points.
First time in the Oxfordshire, we have been looking for a place for our anniversary. Some local colleagues advised us to stay in the Chequers at Burcot. So we booked a room for 2 nights.
It was our first time in The Chequers and YOU have to go if you're in this area! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food.
They have full menu of starters, sharing plates, main courses, all products and meat...
Very nice country pub been to before, their fillet steaks are particularly good..
This time we had a child's mac and cheese which my grandaughter loved. My daughters chicken salad was a very generous portion, and nice variety.
I had mix of 3 items platter from a choice of maybe 10 or more. Liked fish bites and cheddar, pork bites not so much. Abroad I have had this done with pork loin and really liked...

Beautiful place in the midst of town. Very quiet and quaint, blends into the atmosphere of Oxford town. Running route behind hotel connects beautifully to the river and there are horses on the estate.
This is our second stay at the hotel within a year. The environment is nice and service is good. The room we have this time is not as “fresh” looking but the bed was comfy. The bed was set up with 6 pillows, loved it.
The room is clean, and the bed is comfortable. The hotel’s location is a bit out of the dining/shopping area. The car park is convenient but the parking fee is rather expensive.
Prompt response from customer services. Our requests were fulfiled properly.
Excellent location! Super clean. Bed was too soft and small. (Used to a superking) felt like I was going to roll off as too soft. Nice touch to see a welcome note on TV on arrival.
Reception are super friendly at any time, always keen to help.😁 Brilliant full English breakfast contains all you need for an enjoyable morning.

Very delightful welcoming staff, willing to help and assist with anything
This hotel should be given 5 star’s honestly when compared to others around Oxford
It’s located in a very quiet area so you will definitely enjoy a good night sleep 😴.

This very centrally located hotel is a real gem of a find.
Staff are so professional and friendly, the room was immaculate with large TV, modern furnishings, very comfortable bed, fridge, free safe, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, ample coat hangers.
There is a bar on the ground floor that serves a limited menu for dinner but the breakfast is "amazing".
There is a roof terrace what you are able...
Modern, clean rooms and facilities. Great location. Very good air conditioning in the rooms. Make sure your door is shut when you leave or arrive in your room. Beds were small but comfy. Water from the shower gets everywhere, put lots of towels down.
Clean, modern rooms, decent sizes, good bathrooms, excellent location (right on the edge of the city center but not in the crowds and noise), easy walk from train stations. Not luxury but then that’s not quite what you expect from this brand. What you expect is dependability, as in all the above. The worst thing I can say is that the breakfasts could be better (the hot plate scrambled eggs were consistently...
We selected a room with a “city view.” I guess technically it was, but the city view from the ground floor room location we had looked out at another building 30’ away. Best to ask for a higher floor, I guess. The room had a glassed bathroom which only offered semi-privacy. The staff was very helpful. They lost their bar tender so they could only offer “straight” drinks, not mixed drinks. Strange law

Really lovely hotel set in pretty grounds. Only a short drive to Oxford centre and Blenheim Palace. Comfortable room with good amenities and there is a lovely swimming pool and spa area. Enjoyed a drink in the courtyard as the sun was setting. Very relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff.
A special thanks to Emily for her excellent service. She responded to my emails quickly and handled my requests with great care. We had a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful and thoughtfully prepared. The hotel has a charming, castle-like vintage style, and the surroundings are lovely. The breakfast and dinner and lunch were also great—highly recommended! Thanks again, Emily!

Lovely hotel, rooms spacious and very clean, restaurant and food lovely, staff very friendly and helpful, location perfectly central and within walking distance to all attractions. As it was my Daughter’s 30th Birthday we arrived to a bottle of Prosecco, very much appreciated thank you. We have already started to arrange our next stay.
Great with breakfast and dinner. Parking was a bit of an issue...we had to park about a half mile away. Friendly staff. I recommend. I forgot to say that a chest of drawers would be useful in our room! However, throughout our meal we had excellent service from our waiters, especially Milena! Thank you.
If you pay less than £100 it's not bad at all but when you spend £192 it's not good and you feel cheated. "lipstick on a pig" - stay away from room #108, the kitchen fan is outside the window and is on and loud from 6AM until 10PM. Bathroom is beautifully renovated but floor tiles are coming up and shower leaks water everywhere; floor boards are all loose and squeak, - this includes hallway, so you...
Brilliant hotel, rooms and location lovely. Service from staff next to none. Lost my room key while out at an event, emailed the hotel and there was a new one waiting for me when I got back. Couldn't recommend enough.
Arrived Christmas Eve for the 3-night break at the Mecure Eastgate Hotel in Oxford. Bedroom small but large shower room. Restaurant is quite shambolic although the food is good. Small and friendly hotel. Spacious and well appointed rooms. Restaurant is a must try in evening, breakfast also deserve a 5 star rating
Great place to stay. Have stayed in executive suit and courtyard room, both top quality, clean and comfortable. Food in the restaurant is excellent as were the staff. Would definitely stay the there again.
Nice hotel, restaurant served good dinner and lovely breakfast. Hotel bar was a nice place to relax in the evening. Stayed in an Oxford double - think the smaller rooms would have been too small for us. Two small niggles we had - the section of the hotel where our room was located was absolutely boiling (think the radiators needed massively turning down, even for January). Also, the cleaners were outside...
We were a bit disappointed with the afternoon tea.
The afternoon tea itself was good and the lounge room where we had it was pretty.
However, when we first arrived the staff told us to wait in the lounge room and after 30 mins it became apparent they had forgotten us.
Also, the two staff who served us didn't seem to know what they were doing. For example, when the afternoon tea arrived, the lady...
We stayed for a 3 night Christmas break with meals included. On arrival we were met with a warm welcome from one of the reception staff. The other receptionist seemed a little harassed. Lovely clean room

Big yummy breakfast
Super location very close to main sights
this hotel is OK, some positives and negatives
the photos do not quite reflect the quality of the hotel.
the hotel is located in a residential area. This means there is no shops around and requires a bit of walking distance for whatever you may need, however this can be quite nice.
The room I was in was noisy as it was on the road which for a residential area is quite busy.
The sound proofing...
While the rooms are a little quirky, the staff couldn't be better. Extremely friendly, and some of the best customer service I have received and seen.
The premium rooms are very spacious, handy with a family.
This is a nice hotel, but the service is quite amateurish. You check in at the cafe, they give you a free welcome drink on arrival, but ours took 40
minutes which is s bit ridiculous. You don’t get a key, you get a keypad number (and I question if this is changed every day??). They are friendly though. Parking is limited, and not for the nervous driver, and you need to book in advance at £10 per car...

An ancient British-style hotel. The waitress at the front desk is very friendly and explains in detail and politely.
The location is very good, in the center of Oxford, very convenient to go anywhere, there is a Lanzhou ramen restaurant downstairs, the taste is very good.
The room with breakfast is booked, the breakfast is very monotonous, not recommended, there are many supermarkets and restaurants around, you can buy anything to eat. And we left early on the last day, and did not have breakfast.
The hotel wins...
Very average, the price is very high, no cost performance, not recommended.
1. Living in the attic, no air conditioning, no ventilation.
2. The bathroom has no ventilation fan, and the whole room is full of mist after taking a shower, almost suffocating.
3. The room is dimly lit and not bright.
4. The wall is cracked in many places
The location of the hotel is very good. It is an old-fashioned hotel. There is no elevator and the stairs are relatively small. The two rooms allocated are quite good. The rooms are relatively large and clean. The room facilities are also very complete, but the shower room for bathing is too small. Some couldn't turn around. There are only cold options for breakfast, so it is recommended to eat out
Watch when then cleaner clear yr room !!
But they look into yr bags 💼 try on some smelly out my wash bag
And to top this up I have my over coats missing out the wardrobe & it’s from export coats
Value about £230 gone missing has bin reported
Waiting for reply back from there cleaners ??
I am very up set about Stealing from are luggage
My best over coats

Excellent hotel, spotless clean. Bar excellent and beautiful food and service. Best breakfast we have had in a hotel by far
Room clean and comfy, entertainment easy to connect with netflix and other
Really recommended for travellers
Good hotel apart from no air con in the restaurant so it was roasting and breakfast and no working lift. With a pushchair we unnecessarily struggled.
Good stopover hotel. And easy way to go to Oxford by bus or taxi.
Small swimming pool, but has space to swim around.
Excellent service. Great facilities( swimming pool, sauna, gym). Amazing choice of breakfast buffet. Out of the city centre but with very good bus connections or relatively cheap taxi ride. Definitely will stay there again
The hotel is good but the service is bad, especially the front desk receptionist doesn't smile at all. Also It is inconvenient that if you want more stuff like box tissue and toothpaste you need to walk all the way to the front desk to get it yourself, the housekeeping will not bring to your room.

The hotel is in a very good location, only ten minutes' walk from the city and the station, suitable for travel and business trips.

The hotel is very unique, it was converted from a prison. I didn't know why some of the room doors had names + years on them before, I only found out after asking. The suite I booked is underground, the experience is very novel, and there is also a separate entertainment room. I like this separate entertainment room so much, it's great! Oxford is really full of history, every place has a history.
The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic!!! The staff were so polite and helpful, the room was wonderful and the meal in the restaurant was amazing. The prison hotel has a feeling of class and luxury and then a beautiful contradiction that it used to be the home of naughty prisoners - we have nothing negative to say just going home with fond memories and some wonderful pictures!!!
It is semi-underground with a small window. The room is unique and spacious, and there is also an audio-visual room. The facilities are a bit inadequate, the shower head drips, the sound insulation of the room is not good, the wash basin is not smooth, and the service details need to be improved.
This is the best hotel in the area, with a cool and romantic atmosphere. Even though it is a hotel converted from a prison, it has a great night view. The service is also good, worth experiencing 👍
Really great, very unique, very good hotel, highly recommended
